A recent international poll showed that Obama was chosen by people in 22 foreign countries as the best choice to become the next President of the United States. What do SodaHeads think?

Actually, I would have liked to have chosen "NONE OF THE ABOVE". Of course we're ready for an African-American president! (...just not the current candidate.)
(Also, I think we'll always need a president who calls himself simply an "American"...not African-American, Russian-American, Irish-American, Polish-American...etc. etc. We're all of the HUMAN race, so to begin to overcome our "differences" we have to stop pointing them out.) -

Nice try. The question does not match the possible response choices. If you believe it does, you must think that Mr. Obama is representative of all African Americans. Maybe, maybe not. I believe that America is certainly ready for an African American (or other minority) as President. To frame the possible responses the way you did leads to misleading results. I would certainly vote for an African American as President. That doesn't necessarily mean I would vote for this particular African American. By the same logic, not voting for this particular candidate should not be an indication I or others who didn't choose "yes" would not vote for another who happens to be from the same race. Pretty bad match between the posted question and possible answers. -

My question was simply a reflection of the current state of the country (however If you are a minority in America, it has always been about race and the horrendous atrocities that have been inflicted against them ... ie slavery, forced move to reservations, internment camps, etc)
And I never insinuated that I speak for ANY other Americans but myself. -

I would hate to think that after all we have learned about racism and how far this country has come in being less racist, anyone would choose not to vote for someone merely because of the color of his skin. Obama's brain is the same color as all of ours. -

Why is this all about race??? This is not about black,white, indian, on and on... We are a melting pot nation! Let's get to the meat of the subject! What has McCain done/sacrificed for this nation and what has Obama done/sacrificed for this nation! McCains war record stands for itself were Obama has been in Iraq trying to delay troop withdrawls (behind closed doors) while in public speeches saying he's all for troop withdrawls... Any then there is Michelle Obama who is "Finally proud of this country?" Perhaps if she is not proud of what our great nation has accomplished she should try someplace else, perhaps like Iraq? -
