Answered wait for set to end

depends on the location.
stadium or arena? just leave -- avoid the lines at intermission!
theater? wait for set or act to end, if possible.
bar or club? wait for set to end, if possible.
be considerate. try not to disurb other patrons, but don't embarrass yourself...

If I really have to go to the bathroom I might go immediately. for drinks and stuff I'd wait at least for a set to end but most likely not go at all.

Same here Mollydolly, I take care of it before. If I can I will wait for a set to end..If not I'll wait for the tune to end--At a Dave Matthews concert that can be hard to do..LOL

    Answered None of the above

Depends on what the song they are performing is. If it's a song I love I will wait. If it's one that I don't care as much about I will go quickly so I don't miss anything.

Answered wait for set to end

...or for the building crescendo if its music, so as to beat the crowds. Most of my live events are hockey games, though, so I just go when I've gotta go.

If you've gotta go, you've gotta go!

Usually wait for the song to end before disturbing everybody in my row.

Answered wait for set to end

I don't like to interrupt the performance, or annoy the rest of the audience, so I try and wait as long as possible. I hate it when someone has to get up and walk infront of you in the middle of the act
  • raves +1   [-] by Arleen
That bothers me as well..if you have to go, well that can't be helped but at least they could try to be considerate..

usually if there are breaks in between a gig, then I go unless its a mandatory call of nature to go then.

Answered wait for set to end

I try and bring a drink with me, which doesn't help the loo part, but I can usually time it respectably.

Answered just leave and take care of business

Most of the concerts I go to don't have an intermission. Closest thing is if there is an opening act, but usually, when there is, we tailgate in the parking lot during the opener. Once inside, it's usually about a 2 hour straight set, so if I need to take a leak or get a beer, I just do it.

Same no intermissions, and always party in the parking area but get in for the opening act..You never know what you might miss everyone has started out as an opening act! I wait for the performance or tune to end and make a dash.,before another starts..likewise coming back.. respect the performer is the way we old hippies are.

The concerts I go to are generally so big, that the band would NEVER notice lil' ol me taking a potty break.
  • raves     [-] by Arleen
Ya I know they may not, but I am usually very close. I think its a respect thing for me
I also don't want to interupt anyone's expierence. Even though the performer may not notice.
This all comes from a recent concert when a couple of people in the middle of a row repeatadly popped in and out of the row and spilt wine on someone and thought it was hilarious.
I finally said make this your last interuption. The people around us had things to say to to them as well. Their reason? ya well its her 21st b'day. I told them ya well its my 67th and your are annoying the hell out of me. This all ended when no one would move for them and the guys behind 'accidently' spilled beer on them.
I just thought it could have been avoided, if they were actually there for the music.
  • raves +1   [-] by Foo Master LOVES MattGunns!
No, I'm usually so far away that there's no possibility of the artists noticing me leave!
  • raves     [-] by Arleen
Hey girl you need to travel with the money crowd! j/k Live music no matter where you sit is my drug of choice and I have to indulge as often as I can.

Answered wait for set to end

You cannot be rude and just walk out during a live performance. It is rude to the performer as well as the audience. Unless it is an emergency. This includes those troglodytes who keep their phones turned on too!!!

You could always pee in a cup and drink it. If you're desperate enough. Ewww.

Thanks for the clip, I love good drumming.
  • raves     [-] by Arleen
Never thought of it LOL...The drummer is Carter Beauford, Dave Matthews Band. Good stuff!

Answered wait for set to end

ideally I want to wait for the set to end but sometimes...I will sneak out after the end of a tune. I have noticed in the past few years people leaving during a performance I find that completely insulting to the artist, so I thought I would whine about it here..

  • raves +1   [-] by JimBob
It comes from Cockney rhyming slang. The "water closet" (original name for indoor toilet) became the "Waterloo," which then shortened to "the loo."
  • raves     [-] by Arleen
Thanks Jimbob, I did not know that..
