Has love been replaced with sex?
Just to curious to see what SH has to say. I was chatting with a friend and I believe now in these days sex is confused with being loved. There are other stages of a relationship that merits love and not just sex. I will not dispute that it is part of showing love, but it is not the main center piece!-

In some ways yes. A lot of people do confuse the two. Sex is no longer just about love. And to be honest I don't think it ever was. It would be wonderful if it was but that's just not the way human nature works. People have sex for many different reasons and quite often love is not one of them. Tho I have to say that when sex is about love it is on a different level then just the normal act of sex. When it is about love it takes on a new meaning and is far more profound. -

In this day and age, absolutely! I think that line has not only been blurred, but it's a big smeary blotch! It's interesting though. As you get older, and have been in a marriage for any significant length of time (Over 15 years), believe me, you only WISH that love would be replaced by sex. -

That people, and I am speaking of intelligent people (not needy, immature children), find that sex is back to what it used to be (that is, in times before Christianity). Sex is open, love is not needed for sex anymore. Notice more people are happy about this.
The old American, and Westernized World, view of sex and love has changed. Sex is now an integral part of this love. And love is never usually without sex (that is, with a mate, not family members). -

People, especially young girls think sex is equivalent to love and if you love someone you need to have sex with them. It is sad that they have no idea what love really is..... advertisements, hollyweird and trends have been allowed to define it for them.
Love is a choice, a committment in a relationship whether you have sex or not.

You'd be right in some respects.. Many people, particularly the younger ones all confuse lust and sex with love. Part of growing up, I suppose..
