If it's with a name in it it would probably be
    Emily by Bowling For Soup
    Craaazy song!
I would put Helena by My Chem But I've listened to it too much recently, so it's not my favourite right now! Still an awesome song though ^^

I like too many to decide: "kelsey" by Metro Station, "Hey there Delilah" by Plain White T's, "Melissa" by The Allman Brothers Band, "Sweet Caroline" by Neil Diamond, "Maria,Maria" by Santana, "Janie's Got a Gun" by Aerosmith, "Eleanor Rigby" by The Beatles

I cannot name just one. I have a handful. I will try to keep it to a minimum.
"William, It Was really Nothing" by The Smiths.
    "Hey Jack Kerouac" 10,000 Maniacs
    "Caroline" Concrete Blonde
    "Charlotte Sometimes" The Cure
"Movin' Out (Anthonys Song)" Billy Joel
    "Angie" Rolling Stones
    "My Cherie Amour" Stevie Wonder

Jackson Browne's Rosie. The most romantic song about masturbation ever written.
  • raves +3   [-] katycapone replied to motowndemlady
I'm a big Jackson Browne fan. I just saw him in concert last Sunday night. I've seen him once before too. Do you like him a lot?
  • raves +2   [-] motowndemlady replied to katycapone
I'll try not to reveal my age, but let's just say I was there when David Lindley was front and center. I have every cd by JB. Have gone to 16 Jackson Browne concerts. He was on the Colbert Report recently and I've saved it on my DVR. He is suing McCain for using "Running on Empty."
  • raves +1   [-] katycapone replied to motowndemlady
Wow@ 16 shows. I have a tendency to see certain artists over and over again. The audience was loving when he sang "I am a Patriot".
  • raves +2   [-] motowndemlady replied to katycapone
Yes, he is a master when it comes to lyrics (and writing music too), and has never been shy to express his political views through his music. "Lawyers in Love" and "Looking East" have some political songs that are as relevant now as they were when the cd's were released. Kind of like Bob Dylan. BTW, have you ever listened to the Wallflowers? Lead singer and songwriter is Jakob Dylan, and he's amazing.
  • raves +1   [-] katycapone replied to motowndemlady
Yeah I saw the Wallflowers open for 10,000 Maniacs back in '92 at Brandeis University in Boston. They were pretty cool. The Maniacs are a band I used to follow and hang out with back in the late 80's and early 90's.
  • raves +1   [-] katycapone replied to motowndemlady
Natalie Merchant wrote a lot of political songs when she was with 10,000 Maniacs. Songs that are also relevant to whats going on now.
  • raves +1   [-] motowndemlady replied to katycapone
Wow, multiple brushes with greatness? How did you get to hang out with them? (I always wished I could have been a Jackson Browne roadie, in my dreams). We should share music files. I've been a fan of NM and 10,000 Maniacs for years too. How about Patty Griffin? Do you know her work? I've been to a couple of her concerts and most of her cds.
  • raves +1   [-] katycapone replied to motowndemlady
I was a huge fan starting when I was 14 or 15. In two separate incidents I met Jude Merchant (Natalie's brother) and Robert Buck (former Guitarist for 10k). Through them they used to hook me up with free tickets and backstage passes, right up until they broke up. I met R.E.M backstage at one of the shows and talked politics w/ Michael Stipe. I have some pretty cool signed vinyl and a signed tourbook.

I have heard of Patty Griffin. I can't recall if I have really listened or not. I will do that.
