Is There A Special Place In Hell For Women Like Palin that Incite Racial Riots?
Joe Biden lashed out at Sarah Palin on Wednesday, calling her recent rhetoric "ugly" and "mildly dangerous," and expressing shock that the Alaska Governor did not interrupt recent rallies when supporters shouted hateful attacks about Barack Obama, including "treason!" and "kill him!""I watched the news and I heard a couple people hollering from the audience semi-vile things about 'terrorists,' things like that," Biden said on NBC's Today show. "The idea that a leading American politician who might be vice president of the United States would not just stop mid-sentence and turn and condemn that -- it's just a slippery slope, it's a place that we shouldn't be going."
Biden repeated the sentiment on ABC's Good Morning America:
"I think it goes way too far. Look, this really is a case where, when you don't have anything to talk about, attack -- and it gets really over the edge," he said. "I mean, some of the stuff she's saying about Barack Obama and the stuff that people are yelling from the crowd, if she hears it, she should be at least be saying, whoa, whoa, whoa, that's overboard. But this is volatile stuff."
A Secret Service spokesperson said on Tuesday that agents were trying to track down more information about the individual who yelled "kill him" during the Palin event in Clearwater, Fl., on Monday.

Really? She incited a race riot? Where was this riot? Why haven't we seen news video of it? This kind of rhetoric is silly and unhelpful. Should she have stopped to chastise whoever yelled those remarks? Absolutely. But it serves no purpose to make ridiculous statements about the supposed effects of those remarks. -
raves +1 Oct 11, 2008 03:36AM GMTcome on, you're not that dumb. I realize you are trying to be cute.....but it's not cute. I have heard numerous political analysts....some of which are Republicans........saying that what she is doing is dangerous and that there is real fear that someone is going to get hurt.
The majority of the people who go to palin rallies are crazies who are full of anger and hatred......guess another name for them is the Republican Base. -
raves +1 Oct 13, 2008 05:05PM GMTNo, I'm not trying to be cute. I'm trying to get posters to moderate what they say so that conversation can focus on real issues, not made up ones.
There are crazies on either end of the spectrum following BOTH of these candidates. I object to Sen. Obama telling his followers that they need "get in the faces" of people who say they are not voting for him, but I don't accuse him of inciting his followers to intimidate people.
Words matters. Saying Palin incited race riots is silly. Saying a few of her followers are crazies is accurate. -

I don't think there is a special place I just think the fire gets a little hotter, early in August I wrote a blog called Alaskans speak out against Palin in which she was overheard calling Obama Sambo, many people found this insulting but true to her colors the truth has come out. She is a racist and she will incite a riot and anything else to ensure that the Mccain ticket takes the focus from where it should be on the issues.
It is a real sad day when a woman who is suppose to know how to conduct her self stoops to the low that she has. I would be just as ignorant as she if I chose to call her the many different colorful names that come to mind and this is woman who has birth 5 children, what values are being taught to them at home?
I really don't want this one in the White House! -

IF there is such a place as “hell” then yes, Palin will be there, along with all of her bigoted, self-righteous, lying, hatemongering friends (whatever their political affiliation).
She (and McCain) are creating a very dangerous atmosphere which is becoming very reminiscent of a violent time in American history – discrimination in the South before the before and during the Civil Rights Movement when angry mobs and violence was rampant, when police were ordered to attack demonstrators with dogs and firefighters to turn high-pressure water hoses on them. Palin’s lies and insinuations are inciting riots. What is most disconcerting to me is that John McCain condones this. It was just this sort of hatemongering that encouraged radical actions such as those that took place in the 60’s. For McCain and Palin to discredit someone else for taking part in this kind of activity back then, they are just as “guilty” and MUST BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY ACTIONS THAT MAY OCCUR AS A RESULT OF THEIR IRRESPONSIBLE CAMPAIGNING. This should NOT be tolerated by any decent human being – and we cannot justify this sort of behavior as “politics as usual.” I am appalled by the attitude of some of my fellow Americans but most deeply dismayed by and ashamed of John McCain and Sarah Palin -- the worst kind of Americans! Knowing what I know about Palin, I’m not shocked, but John McCain – WHAT HAPPENED TO THE “HERO?” -

I'm talking about all you flag-waving hypocritical bigots. FYI, I don't need to wear a lapel pin or have flags waving in the background to prove I'm an American. I'm just as patriotic as you think you are. -

and I'm not so sure she was trying to incite a riot, I'm way too optimistic a person for that but I will say she should have said something! This is my post from a related question "She wants to be a leader! She should have said something!
"When the Nazis came for the communists,
I remained silent;
I was not a communist.
When they locked up the social democrats,
I remained silent;
I was not a social democrat.
When they came for the trade unionists,
I did not speak out;
I was not a trade unionist.
When they came for the Jews,
I remained silent;
I wasn't a Jew.
When they came for me,
there was no one left to speak out."

She incites hate at those rallies and by virtue of the fact that she does nothing about it to quiet those people down.. she adds to the problem thus creating a much larger one! She adds fuel to the hate flame.. that is hell on earth right there! Biden was right when he called it dangerous.. but it is not very mild! What about the black guy who was wearing an Obama t shirt and was shot in the face by a McCain supporter. This is getting serious. I'm happy to hear that the SS is trying to track down the person who yelled 'kill him' at the rally. I hope they find him. -
raves +2 -1 Oct 10, 2008 03:46PM GMTAmerica is becoming unrecognizable! What happened to our so called peaceful nation? The McCain camp knows the possibilities but they continue to stir things up.
Did you see those 2 Conservative women on Larry King last night? Kathleen Parker and Michelle Laxalt. They laid out all the reasons why Palin should not be VP. They said that the right wing is just using her, that she is highly unqualified for the job is oh so many ways.. then added that the Republican party has become unrecognizable too. It isn't the reasonable party of people like Barry Goldwater and Reagan anymore. It has become more extreme. Their words. -
raves +1 Oct 10, 2008 04:01PM GMTI didn't see that. Wow! They are telling the truth. Did you see the planted black person in the audience begging McCain to use Rev. Wright? Is he an idiot. In our community, a pastor's role is very important and we respect them highly. That's like going after your parent. I thought it was hilarious.

If I did, however, I would say there's a very special place in hell for the warped mentality of the Palins of the world who will incite racial hatred and try to play Pontius Pilate by washing their hands of the blood if it actually incites acts of brutality and violence. What McCain and Palin are doing is giving credence to a year-long vicious, Internet smear campaign waged by nutters and haters who belong in the modern-day Klan or in a theater, hoorahing Birth of a Nation. -
raves +5 Oct 10, 2008 02:25AM GMTIt's is horrible. Biden was on Black Radio today. And he said he got in trouble for making the statement that it was dangerous. He said "but it is" and he doesn't know what happened to McCain after he was there for him when they screwed him in 2000. He was like he told John that he would be there for him and McCain is going to hire the same people that screwed him. He was like he couldn't believe it. Then he went back on message. You know Senator Biden keeps it real, and often. LOL!

When Obama came to Tampa a man took his son with a McCain sign. He didn't say anything and they physically attacked him, knocked the video camera out of his hand and tore up his sign. Sooooo, don't be so quick to jump on the other side. The organizers and security did nothing to stop them. Some of them were women.
