Answered Yes, this recession will not affect me
I work in a gold mine, when things get bad we should do better. I make good money but bought a 1 room log cabin for 70k. 2 mortgages, taxes and insurance total $550 a month. People did not need to buy homes that were 3X their annual income. When you are that over extended it is like walking a tightrope in a stiff breeze. -

The good thing about my position here.. however insignificant it seems.. being just a receptionist.. is that I am the only one.. and I try to go beyond the call of duty.. picking up extra chores and trying to help the tenants in the other offices whenever I can.. I am confident that I will be alright during the recession.. but I have learned in life to never be too confident about such things. -

Answered No, I am scared to death
It's hard to tell at this point. My business has picked up quite a bit recently. So much so, that I will have to start hiring new talent before the baby is born. I do fear that with me being partially out of commission, projects won't be completed in a timely manner, which would impact revenue.
The influx that I've been seeing lately, could be a manic last ditch attempt by small and large businesses to salvage what's left of their own e-commerce success. I would be foolish to say that a recession won't affect me this early in the game, especially since my business is all about improving other people's business. But, fingers are crossed. -

I wouldn't say that I'm scared to death. I'm a clever and resourceful woman with excellent people skills. I can always get a job.
Also, my husband's job is recession proof. He is actually interviewing people to fill a couple of positions this week. -

Although I have more personal "insulation" than most... it all hinges on the successfulness of American business, the value of real estate, and the liquidity of the wealth of average American individuals (and the willingness to spend that wealth).
