Joe 6-pack....considered a racist comment? LOL?

This is just a statement Sarah Palin made for the average guy....now if she would have said, Joe Six-Pack and Reggie 40....then I would have been offended.....

How foolish do you think the Obama camp is getting or do you think that Sarah Palin intentionally make a racist statement?

Answered Sarah Palin didn't mean a thing by this but the average person

Come on...I'm tired of intentionally offended people trying to act like they don't understand commonly used terms, and don't see things that everyone sees. Most people know what "Joe Six Pack" means, it is a commonly used term... but I agree with Gramma Lil...they aren't grasping at straws, they are winning. : ) Feigning offense is something that has become a common strategy of political hacks of all stripes, as has pretending you have been falsely charged with an allegation the other side has never actually made.

Hilary Clinton and some of her supporters did this to Obama in the primaries, when Ferraro said "You shouldn't be called racist every time you say (blah blah blah)", which was actually NOT charged by the Obama camp. That is a common strategy, probably also being used here, to tap into people being tired of false charges of insensitivity under amorphous PC standards. I doubt the Obama camp really gives a crap what Sarah Palin says about Joe anything.

Obama and his supporters have chosen to take every comment possible as racist. They choose not to look at the person speaking and believe that person doesn't mean anything racist by the comments. But, when some of us are offended by the G'dam America statements of a church, everyone not of that church is to believe that is okay. A truly double standard. Please publish a list of words and phrases you find offensive so we will know what you think we should not say. Personally, I think the use of phrases like whitey are racist. And since it seems many black people find Hockey Mom offensive and code, should I believe if people say Basketball Mom it is racist? How far should we go in finding offense? Are you saying no black men buy 6 packs and drink them? Or that no black men are named Joe? Which part is offensive?

Does anyone even know what the term racism means anymore? Do only white people buy beverages in groups of 2 or more? If I buy m& m's without peanuts, I would be considered racist against the nut cases out there screaming racism!

Answered Sarah Palin is making racist statements

Sarah Palin has been groomed to say things of this nature because she knows full well as to whom she is referring.....Joe 6 Pack and hockey mom are not your typical black voters thats for sure.........As far as the comment itself, no it shouldnt be racial but you have to remember what Sarah Palin has been saying all the long and pushing the black and the terrorist scare......she and the McCain campaign knew exactly what they were doing. And as far as McCain having to eat crow as they say, thats what happens when another eratic tactic and dangerous one backfires, there was a lot of flak on this from many people and newspaper articles and the like, and his campaign knew that it was true he was paying with fire. If ever one of the dingbats at his rally went out on a tangent and killed someone, it would be McCain that would be held accountable for inciting the crowd to this point; he had no choice but to back it up and down play what he was saying and what his side kick was saying.
  • raves +1   [-] kanakarican voted McCain/Palin replied to Dee
Maybe she's not looking at the world through black and white eyes.....like the people who are interpreting it to how they want it...maybe they are the racists! And the scare you are talking about is about the associations he has chosen...then decided too denounce once he figured out it was damaging to his campaign....again...nothing to do with color. Tactic? Obama never gave an honest answer and the media was fine with what he had to say...the media...not the people...I want answers...It needs to be addressed. There are tooo many issues with this man that are just not right. He is a big question mark and people who choose to defend him are blinded by his smooth words and charismatic style....words and style are not enough to run a nation...unless it's further into the ground than what it is now. The ding bats your referring to...it's a bit out of character for what we have been seeing over the years...in fact it seems like they could have been planted....yes....planted by the liberal nutcases (fits the style) just to prove their charismatic one is pure....Give me a break. The only difference is that this hasn't been going on for as long as the slanderous lies that has been going on for ever since Governor Palin has come on the scene! Why won't this man give the answers that should be answered before this nation? Because he can't without damaging his chances....he's as crooked as Lumbard St!.....maybe even more so!

I hit the wrong circle. I meant to hit the Sarah Palin meant the average person vote.

Racist comes from the root word race, and I've never heard of Joe or 6-pack being one of them.

who ever thinks that sarah palin is racist for relating to "joe six-pack" needs to just pack it up and quit on life, or get a life all together, one of the two. you're just looking for some reason to hate about this woman, and it's disgusting.

I think she tried to refer to an "average" person, but I'm not into 6 packs of beer. I don't believe it was a racist comment from the "by golly don't cha know, can I call you Joe" gal but I don't like her because she thinks she is above the law and I'm a big wildlife defender and this is their latest video of her practices if you are interested:

All of obamas friends think they are above the law and it doesn't seem to bother him one bit. Oh, and some of them are racist too. Oh, and some of them, most of them in fact, HATE America the beautiful!
  • raves     [-] Toby replied to PatrioticallyCorrect
who are you referring to? I don't think Obama is doing anything illegal, Palin is inciting violence at her rallies, do you think that is cool? I don't. I also don't think it is cool that she is killing these pups which is illegal by Alaska's own laws and she is offereing rewards for doing so. Obama whole campaign is on inclusion and helping people not violence.
  • raves     [-] kanakarican voted McCain/Palin replied to Toby
Toby....the pup's you are refer to are killing Moose. The wolves are over populated and wouldn't hesitate to kill a child....

In regards to the Palin rallies....what about the drive-by media? Don't you think they should be held accountable for the slanderous lies they have been passing off as truth? People are pissed that Obama is still a big question mark in our minds and he is running for president...he should produce unanswered questions.....what's he hiding?
  • raves     [-] Toby replied to kanakarican voted McCain/Palin
Kanakarican what questions do you have that have not been answered? I have been asked a few and have found legitimate answers to many if not all. Palin has been spewing lies at her rallies that are vicious and even McCain had to calm that one woman who told him she thought Obama was Arab, it's getting ridiculous with the BS rhetoric already. As far as the pups being shot in their heads by low flying planes - that is just unfair hunting practices and those wolves are in the middle of nowhere near any children, nature should take its course with the Moose & Wolf populations - not Palin. Maybe if a wolf was about to attack your dinner then take it down, otherwise leave it alone - I think they are exceptionally beautiful animals.

Exactly what are his ties to Ayers? I don't buy the "he's a guy who lives in my neighborhood" crap...

What ties does he have with ACORN?

How could you not know what doctrine was being preached in a church you attended for 20 years?

I wanna know that his radical ties, that he either denounces because fear they are going to get in the way of his campaign or just avoids with some cheesy answer!

As far as Ayers goes they aren't and never were close. The suggestion that ayers was a political advisor to Obama is patently false. Obama denounced Ayers radical activities which happened when Obama was just a kid of 8 yrs old. They first met on 95 through the education project the Chicago Annenburg Challenge and encountered each other occasionally in public life and their hood. I really don't think he is a prejudiced man even tho he may have sat through some of those sermons and I'm sure the Reverend didn't spend the whole time just discussing that kind of thing either but of course we heard it over and over. I guess we just have to go with our gut who we think the better man for the job is. McCain has changed his stance on things way too much and Palin scares me, don't get me wrong I do like McCain but I do think Obama would make the better changes we require.

he never denounced him....he said he's a guy who lives in his neighborhood and their kids go to the same school....(the kids have more than a 20 year difference) he is evading the question...people take that as an answer? Not me!

    Snoopes? LOL

Never said it was ran by Obama...but he has taken money....(bad when the out come is fraudulent registration) He directly has ties with this "Organazation"

He has these criminals, who came out of this national disaster with fanny & freddie with millions of dollars on his staff....advising him! He's so concerned about the "middle class" he won't even talk about it.

You were glad when he left the church....when some one is that radical in his preaching...how in the world can you not take something like that in. Aren't you concerned about all these things put together? Obama is questionable....questionable.... hasn't been able to be consistent in making a solid decision.....that should be a big concern amongst voters....what the heck is "present"????????

I don't want another 8 years of the same...but I don't want a minute of socialism in this country......I don't want this man to some how globalize our nation....I don't want this man...until he gives real answers to this country questions.....he can't even produce a valid birth certificate!
  • raves     [-] Toby replied to kanakarican voted McCain/Palin
He did denonce him. As far as his birth certificate you can check out the facts here, it is public:

    http://www.politifact.com/tru...

There are alot of concerns I do have yes of course - this is probably the most important critical election of our lives. Hey McCain had handouts from Freddie and Fannie also and McCain was with Keating 5 which started this mess with the Savings & Loans. My Mother thinks exactly like you and does not trust Obama, my sister is leaning towards Obama and I am totally sold on the guy. You and I could both change our minds possibly by the 4th as well if something tremendous happens. I am looking forward to the debate tonight and see how that goes. I know one thing for sure McCains flying off the handle at times is kindof hard to handle for me, I like Obama's temperment and find that would really be important when dealing with our global community since they hate us since dubya's been in office. I think they are both good men and both human and we could find faults with each as well but I don't feel any fear about Obama and I truly think he understands the middle class citizen and the situation of our economy better than McCain which is leading me to believe he could start to fix it better - they both have advisors of course but I think Obama has a better handle on things with technology and the environment as well.
  • raves     [-] kanakarican voted McCain/Palin replied to Toby
He never really denounced him. He said he did these despicable things when he was 8...yet years later, he had dealings with him....I believe it was to further his political agenda. (I wouldn't shake hands with the man if I knew what he was about...and he's obviously about putting radical ideals in the minds of our youth...through educational means) If Ayers handed over the money face to face or not....for Obama to handle...the money was still money given to this organization. Obama could have chosen not to deal with it or not, but he chose to give it to the same radical educational dept.s that Ayers supports.

It's a bad feeling I have with this man. He doesn't make decisive decisions ("presesnt") is certainly not a good thing. Presidential? He knew about Ayers....yet he dealt with him and took money from him. He went to a radical church for 20 years and as soon as it became an issue he denounced the church and the pastor cause it could have possibly have ruined his campaign. He was very friendly with his college professor with radical muslim beliefs. (during a time of terror in our world, and the terrorist being radical muslims, I question the man who may be in office!) His life is not an open book....it should be. There are questions I have.....but the feeling I have about this man is solid! He defiantly refuses to show patriotic gestures in public! And dismisses them. It's just too much for me.
  • raves     [-] Toby replied to kanakarican voted McCain/Palin
I really don't see your point what is the difference between despicable and denounce? Why do you have a problem with the Annenburg Challenge? If you were on a committee to improve something and their was someone you didn't like there would you leave the committee? I wouldn't. Patriotic gestures - Obama wore his pin last night and McCain didn't, does that make McCain a terrorist or unpatriotic, I don't think so - screw the pin thing who really cares about gestures - I think facts and platforms are much more important and I like Obamas platform much better than McCains.
  • raves     [-] kanakarican voted McCain/Palin replied to Toby
He denounced it yet chose to deal with him anyway? That's not denouncing...that is excusing and accepting!

I'm not here to change your mind....I have my views on this man and he is questionable and he is getting a great big pass....why? I can't figure it out...it only makes me question him all the more.
