u guys need to get a life! emo people are hawt!!!!! nd da the guys omg.! me and my cuzion rnt emo were scene kids but we like the style nd hair nd all dat crap. but still give emo ppl a break ur just makin it harder for them by judging them nd they are already emotional nd stuff they can be whoever they wanna be. so let them. nd yes being emo can be fixed nd turn to someone not so hurt. but it wood take tons of time nd hard work. emo kids are nice people so give em a break!!!!!! nd to all u emo kids.... good luck nd please dont do ne thing to hurt ur self... think bout ur actions nd remember people will miss u weather they show it or not... dont worry bout other people take care of ur selfs... itll be okayy itll be fine.

emo is deffinatley not dead. i dont know why anyone would think that, with everybody moping around with 3 inch thick eyeliner, slitting their wrists because their crush doesnt like them and they think they need help when they choose not to get it. -

yes it is, though it is kinda sad that the emo wanna be's from this day and age try so hard that really it's considered poser style, because they have to find stuff to bitch about that really isn't there.
I always laugh because a perfect example is from a buddy of mine. He bitch and moaned about his parents saying how they sucked and everything. I asked him why one day, and he said "They didn't buy me the car I wanted, I wanted an '06 Mustang GT." well just for the record, He has an 05 Mustang GT........ that his parents bought him.... but he was whining because it wasn't an 06. Yet I had to buy my own car and he was bitching about his parents not buying him a year newer car.

Basically, it was originally a musical genre that emerged from the Washington D.C hardcore scene in the 80s(ish). The lyrics of the music were usually very emotive, so it was named emo.
Nowadays, most kids think that if they dress a certain way (just google emo and you'll see the very stylised image) then they're emo...it's a bastardized, music-less version of emo.
Oh, and it's also become closely linked with self harm and suicide. No idea why. -

true emo didnt die in the 80's. it was still around in the 90's but died pretty soon after that.i cant wait til these emo kids start a new trend. which will most likely be next week. i can just imagine it:
