Not like during class, but like during free time & between classes & during lunch,
times when there is NO teaching.
Me & a group of guys in my class have been playing Halo during first period. Keep in mind that it is Homecoming Week & there is no actual teaching going on in this class because of activities. Our teacher said no more playing at all. Do you think this is fair?

uhmm, okay hun,
firstly, i am not an idiot.....
i have a 3.82 GPA.
i might be blonde, but im definitely not a dumb one...
secondly,
once again....
THERE IS NO LEARNING TAKING PLACE WHILE WE ARE PLAYING THIS.
we are NOT playing during class.
we aren't even being loud while playing.
we are playing like the last 5 or 10 minutes while everyone else is talking at the END of class....
AFTER class is over.....
NO LEARNING HAPPENING!
gaw dang..... -
Aw that must suck.
My school is meant to be a rich school...like its a Private school & all.
They're actually real strict! O_O
They let us have internet time yeah? But also the uniform code is SO strict.
-Top buttons up (well everywhere usually)
-only school socks XD
-not allowed to eat out in our uniforms
-hair-ties must be black, brown or green
-hair longer than shoulder length must be tied up
-no skirts must be above the knee
& the list goes on...XD -

Why should i care? they ain't there for games.. they are there to get an education and get the credits required in need of graduating.. kids don't go to school to play the games.. it's strictly in the "Learning Zone"
and that's just letting kids think they can take charge of teachers by getting to play games... -
firstly, i posted the poll for people that CARE about the situation in the first place....
first thing you say..
"why should i care"
the way i see it, if you dont really care, then why would you say anything at all?
stay off it if you could care less....
don't waste your time!
if you're just going to be like that,
then why should i care about what you have to say?
i don't
secondly, i do welcome & respect the community's opinion whether it be against what i think or for it.
I think that we should be allowed to play this while no schooling is going on.
most people have said that it shouldnt be allowed at all.
did i go back & thrash them?
no, because i respect their opinions & i can see where they are comming from & why they would think the way they do...
however, i dont respect people with the whole "i could really care less, but im going to tell you what i think anyways" attitude.
if you are going to act like that, then i really don't take you seriously & could infact care less about what you think....
so bottom line is, if you're going to be like "why should i care" then i really don't care about what you have to say....
& from the looks of your profile & comments, you might want to pay closer attention in english class yourself....
oh & i meant to ask, how exactly is being able to play games after class is over, "taking charge of teachers"
care to elaborate on this? -

Once again, give a small person a little bit of power and they turn it into t tyranny. Some teachers have bombastic egos, and they abuse their positions. Unless the games are overtly inappropriate for school- violence, nudity, sexually explicit- then it should be allowed. -
yeah i understand what you're saying.
but the whole point of it is, that we arent even learning anything at the time of the game play,
so they could at least teach class all period long or even as "one week until my birthday" said, let us socially interact.
but no all we do is sit there & when we found something that entertains us, they try to take it away....

They shouldn't (along with other games) be allowed at school...school is there to learn. Sorry.
