I drive a 4x4 truck most of the time, I have a second, 2 wheel drive truck.....the 4x4 is a crew cab, family/neighborhood taxi type thing and the 2x4 hauls the boat....I need a truck for hauling things, and a 4x4 for winter and off road driving......plus they sit higher off the ground and are both safer to drive (can see better) and easier for me to get into and out of.......

i wish i had a super fuel efficient sports car!
i like my trans am because i take corners a bit fast. i'm not a speeder though.
    i always loved sports cars.
cars that look like a box are boring.

my car fits me but i'll never buy a trans am again.
they are fun cars but not built to last.

If you can't have fun driving, you might as well drive a bus. I had a 1960 VolksWagon that I drove the wheels off. It died when the cam broke.

Actually my kind of vechile are semis, and the the best of all is Kenworth. If you know anythinga bout semis you know the old saying, Peterbuilts are a Touch of Class, well I go all Class and go for Kenworths(KW)

They can handle almost anything they run up against, except ice, because nothing can handle ice. They carry a good amount of cargo, and people at the same time. You can move items in the rain and they don't get wet. All around good functional vehicle.

I agree to that one, except its hard to find one good with gas. My Pa has a Jeep Grand Cherokee an he loves it. It has proven to be a good truck for him an not to bad on gas. Could be better but still an overall good truck to have.

We have a used Mercades M class that gets 16 in town and 25 on the road, only problem is that it wants premium gas.
  • raves     [-] by RED
Ya same here if i could aford putting the better gas in would. It burn hotter there for ignites quicker leading towards less gas. I would not go any high though you could over time do damage to your engine parts.

Unfortunately, the way the engine is designed, it is required, just as the fake oil is required every 10k miles instead of regular oil.
  • raves     [-] by RED
i have heared of people saying that, but never had a problem when not doing it. most i have ran into last anywhere fron 150 k to 250 k miles before needing an angine overhaul. I have seen them needing oilpumps an some impler things needing to be done

If you are talking about 50s to the 70s ya they are really nice vehicles to have if you can keep them running good. Or even if you can not they are nice to have
  • raves     [-] by Tiff
    yeah, i am my father's daughter. I love them. I want a 1970's ford fairlane....sweet
  • raves     [-] by RED
My step dad an his 55 Studabaker Commander, he is always talking about that one

I acually got to see one when I lived in Florida, at a place that restores an sells the Oldies but goodies

lucky. I'd be scared that I would leave finger prints. lol

I know what your saying on that. One of the towns I lived in a while back. There was also a person who rebuilt Modle T, an even had a 1914 Idian Motorcycle witch looked more like a moped. That guy never let you near them, unlike the one in Florida it just said don't touch.

Just like em, nice and roomy, not low to the ground so easy to get in and out of. Can be taken off road and if outfitted with proper tires they are great in rain, snow and mud.
  • raves     [-] by RED
Why yes they are really good at doing all of that. If they had one that was good on gas I would think of getting one for my own.
  • raves     [-] by whatever
yeah, gas mileage is NOT great. Our Jeep Grand Cherokee does OK. It gets about 15 to 16 city and 23 Highway. Not great but also NOT our primary car.
  • raves +1   [-] by RED
My dad has one of them an it has served him well, he has a newer on i think its a little better on gas. Just never the less it is a good SUV to have

Same here about getting in an out of. Do not really have anything to haul around, unless we get a pop or utility trailer. Our truck has good area for people a Dodge Durango sits 8 people, but lousy on gas, an with gas prices the way they are it is getting hard to keep gas for it.
