Have you ever heard of Jipson weed or "moon pods"?

My parents and 16 year old brother live in a suburb of Wichita Ks. He and some other kids from his school have takin these "moon pods" and it makes you trip like acid. It grows by the school its a plant that you cut open and eat seeds out of. I have never heard about this and wonder if anyone else had.

According to Wikipedia, Datura stramonium, also called Jimson Weed, Gypsum Weed, Stink Weed, Loco Weed, Jamestown Weed, Thorn Apple, Angel's Trumpet, Devil's Trumpet, Devil's Snare, Mad Hatter, Crazy Tea, Malpitte, Beelzebub's Twinkie and Zombie's Cucumber is a common weed in the Nightshade Family. It contains tropane alkaloids that are sometimes used as a hallucinogen. The active ingredients are atropine, hyoscyamine and scopolamine which are classified as deliriants, or anticholinergics. Due to extremely high risk of overdose, many deaths and hospitalizations are reported from recreational use.

K man sums it up pretty well, also the information that 10mg is a "lethal dose" isn't very helpful as the toxins in the plant vary greatly from plant to plant from season to season. I considered trying this drug but anything in the nightshade family you should beware of.

Its VERY important to note that the toxins in this plant are absorbed greatly different from person to person, some people might experience the effects of the toxins shortly after, some it could take up to 14 hours. Thats a good reason why its overdosed, people don't experience anything and end up taking more, also because its a "true" halucination you have almost no brainpower to decide if your under its effect or not and can very easily end up taking more.

The fact that its not classified widely as illegal should show you enough thats its not a pleasant drug.
