There are several polls relating to down raves -- should they be anonymous, are they relevant, do we care...
We can see how many up raves we have received, from whom, and for what, on our dashboard.
I would like to see down raves I have received, from whom, and for what, on my dashboard.
(Not for retribution, but because there may be cause for rethinking my comment, for further comment, or for further discussion.)
Would you appreciate having down raves on your dashboard?

I'd rather learn and share by commenting back and letting them decide if they want to have a conversation about the subject. Not by saying that I don't appreciate the opinion with a dr. If I get a dr I am going to see it as someone who is lashing out. I don't see a purpose in throwing stones at someone else's opinion.
-
Okay. Lashing out hadn't entered my head, but I can see where that would be problematic. Throwing stones at someone else's opinion has no purpose, I agree. There seems to be a vast array of reasons for down raves, and of how people feel about them. I am glad I asked the question!
-
Several people thought it was just because they disagreed when they were new. I asked a SH once why they voted then DR'd every single other person that voted. He was sooo embarrased! He honestly thought it meant 'I disagree.' I keep that in mind now when I get one.
-
Actually, thinking "thumbs up" and "thumbs down" mean "I agree" and "I disagree" is fairly logical! Until you consider agreeing or disagreeing with a question, that is. Then, you have to figure they are for some other purpose. Whatever raves you get, up or down, it's always good to keep in mind that the people who give them may not have a clue what they are doing...

Answered I don't care about down raves one way or the other.
At one time I cared because I didn't understand why someone would DR me and not say why. I got over it. Really, do you care why a coward is judging you? In a perfect world, they should say why or shut up and put their red thumb where....well, you get the idea....lol! -
Yes. The whole point of an opinion poll is to present and discuss opinions. It seems so dumb to DR and not comment. I DR (rarely) but leave a comment unless they have a history of being verbally abusive.
You are fairly new. After awhile, it bothers you much less. Sometimes it is easy to figure out who the culprit might be. They vote and DR around the same time. You cannot be completely sure but when you see a pattern you catch on.
I see why SH would not show who does it....could lead to some intense online warfare....lol! -
It does seem dumb to DR and not comment, but many of us are dumb...
I'm not bothered by the DR. I'm not bothered by an UR, either.
It sounds like intense online warfare is, or at least has been, an issue, so I can see why anonymity is an option, although I still don't agree with it being optional! -
Answered No, I don't want to see down raves on my dashboard.
Voting here only because there is no "Other" option.
Seeing DR's can be a source of aggravation. If you don't know who did it or even have the ability to figure it out as we did before the September format change, there is no real purpose.
Mass downravers usually have no rhyme, reason or purpose, except to vent their anger.
As many of us have opined previously, abolishing anonymous downraving would cut way down on the petty vindictiveness. However, I think SH management may keep it this way to keep red thumbs from escalating into a bloody battlefield. -
I didn't see a need for an "other" option (it seemed like yes, no, don't care should cover it) -- obviously, I was wrong! My apologies for the omission.
I'm relatively new to SodaHead, so I have no clue what it was like before the September format change.
I don't think down raves should be anonymous -- I'm following that discussion as it progresses. I do think down raves should have a purpose, and that purpose should not be venting anger. I certainly don't want to promote a bloody battlefield!
I just want to know if I get a down rave, from whom, and why... -
Hey, it's no big deal. You've only done four polls, and it's a learning process. So far, so good.
;o))
(That's a Sodahead smile if you tilt your head left.)
We all get curious, but for now you either have to spend your time playing Dick Tracy, or let it go. -

go for it! i love it when spiderbrad, borderqueen and mikenotvick cant hide in the shadows anymore and they truly show its not bad quality but an opposing view they dont like is the real reason for dr's. -
