How spicy is "too spicy"?
I use Tabasco as a basic ingredient in almost everything I cook, and as a condiment for foods someone else cooks. My fridge has many hot sauces, all of which I use, but using Tabasco as a guide, which level of heat do you call "too spicy"?-
raves Apr 08, 2008 02:08AM GMTGood for you! I like them, but I don't eat them all the frequently. Have you looked at http://www.chilepepperinstitu... (for seeds) or http://www.tastewhatshot.com/... (for peppers)? Good luck! Thanks for the comments, and for the info!

There is an art to creating hot spicy food with flavour other than the heat, and many people rely on the heat to detract from the lack of other flavours. With well-prepared spicy hot food there should be a symphony of flavours (just like food without spicy heat)!

not spicy food. It amazes me that people can eat those hot peppers and
salsas. The few times I've tried it, I literally had to drink quarts of
water. For those who do love the spicy stuff -- don't your tongues or
throats burn????
Or, don't you get that sensation?? Or, what do you to get rid of the burning sensations?
I'd love to know. It may just be a case of people have different sensitivities in their taste buds. -

Yes, my tongue sometimes burns, my eyes water, my nose runs, I choke and cough, my throat feels like it's on fire -- but it's all worth it! Tortillas, bread, water, soda, beer -- whatever it takes to cool the fire before the next luscious bite...
Different taste buds, and different kinds of exposure to spicy foods -- if you get fed spicy food, when you are young, you kind of get used to it! -
