It is very difficult to imagine that leaders of this country would sacrifice 3000 people to advance the neocon agenda, but if you look at history ... it has been done before and will probably be done again. This is a very sad era for America and Americans. I hope this chapter will end November 4th and we can rebuild an America the world will once again look to for hope, inspiration and moral leadership. -

I'm sure Bush knew that BinLadin was a threat to us, but he had no concrete information of what, where and when anything would happen. He NEVER would have allowed what happened, happen under his watch. I'm sure they get all kinds of false info about posibilities of what is going to happen, they need to be sure it's true before they panic and flip everone's lives upside down for nothing. But, if you really think a president "could" keep his mouth shut and allow something like this to happen to the USA why in Gods name would you elect a Muslin, or someone who associates with terrorists and wants to "change" this great country into a Socialistic 3rd country? He won't wear the flag pin b/c he doesn't want other (Muslin) countries to think he's taking sides?? I want my president on my side, America's side with no hesitation. Plaaa ease!

I think he had the vague warning "Bin Laden wants to attack the US". I think he had that. Thats not very specific and its not very secret.
To believe he had direct advance knowledge of the attacks ignores the actual knowledge we have of the situation. It also implies and inhuman and calous element that he let it happen and did not care.
I may not agree with a number of things Bush has done. I may not like a lot of Congress people. I may think very poorly of the decision making skills of the people in our government. By my faith in humanity is not SO far gone, my cynicism is not so complete that I could think any one elected individual could let something like 9/11 happen given the knowledge to stop it. I don't.
I'm not naive either. I know what our government is capable of and I know enough not to trust any politican that opens their mouth. They serve their own purposes. But they are all still human beings, despite my disagreements and dislike. I couldn't paint anyone of them as a genocidal murderer, not even close. And I really do think there is something wrong with you if you can do it so easily. Especially if you can do it easily for members of one party and not the other. That belies a twisted selfrighteousness that oozes into your common human sense. -

Of course he knew, the US BOMBED THEIR OWN BUILDINGS, killed their own PEOPLE. Guys in caves did not tell NORAD to stand down. Guys in caves, couldn't have sent dummy missions preparing for an attack that happened on the same day. Funny thing is same thing happened on a train in Britain a week later. -

Of course he did. I once heard, that he might be related to Bin Laden. Bin Laden is a terrorist. do not relatives follow the ways of relatives? Or even obey the relatives, as an insider? But then that's being hypothetical. There are several theories as why and how he knew in advancel but I can't get into them right now. One thing for sure, though, is that I think he knew. -

Hello?? Who is Nobama related to? Where does his grandmother, etc live? (not the one in Hawaii) Who did he help in Kenya try to get elected? He's had 2 fathers, neither were Americans, and obviously there must have been some reason why his mother was attracked to these type of people. She even left the USA, moved to Kenya, lived there, had her son get a new identity, and practice the Muslin religion.

And people do have a tendency to hastily judge what they do not understand. But why is it, nobody has any sympathy about his aunt, in Hawaii? She was sick, when he went to see her.

I think Dubya is a terrible president for many reasons, but to deliberately let those attacks happen? Uh-uh.
A lot of people think otherwise because it's more comforting to believe in big grand conspiracies than it is to admit.....s#!t happens. -
raves -2 May 22, 2008 07:06PM GMTI think Bush, and more importantly, Cheney, Rumsfeld and Rice, knew that an attack was imminent and deliberately chose not to take any steps to stop it on the assumption that they would be able to follow their own agenda of invading Iraq given the pretext of an attack. Whether they knew specfically that on the morning of September 11 those planes would do what they did I am not sure (although it does seem like they did), but they knew a significant attack was coming. That is why Cheney was in charge of an anti-terrorist task force that never met. That is why five (six?) of the 9/11 hijackers were on a watch list but were not watched. And that is why, on September 12, George Bush asked Richard Clarke, his anti-terrorism czar, to "find a way to blame Iraq for this." That is why, after the above warning from the CIA, Bush went on vacation for a month. And that is why, on September 12, when every plane in the United States was grounded, the ONE exception was the plane carrying the Bin Laden family out of the United States.

raves +1 -1 May 22, 2008 11:05PM GMTActually, at least a third of the American Public have indicated that they believe it is true, and I suspect that the numbers are pretty low because there are some who believe it but are afraid to say anything because they might wind up with another warrantless wiretap by our president who has neither read nor understands what the Constitution is.

Absolutely not, and I don't like to use the term 'absolutely' very often. No one, other than a few al Qaida knew. And no, I don't think Clinton's administration knew either. The Clinton administration knew the threat, articulated the threat, and were accused of 'the tail wagging the dog' as a way of diverting attention from the Lewinsky scandal. Neither Bush, nor Clinton, were the caliber of person who would put our countrymen at risk.
