It is the woman you are dating not the kids. The kids are a added thing to the deal. They should be treated with the same respect as the mother.

I dated a girl with a little boy, and it was okay. As long as I'm not taking time away from her child, and her child isn't taking time away from me, it would be fine. Unfortunately, the one relationship I was in with a girl who had a child didn't go that well.

My wife has kids (ours) and I find it quite appealing to remain with her because of that along with other reasons ;)

Before I got married, I didn't date anyone with kids. I think it would depend on the situation -- did I intend to marry her and adopt the kids as steps? My parents both divorced and remarried people with kids. It didn't stop them and I think I'd feel the same way.
