Not only is it bad manners, but, I really don't want to hear your phone conversation, take it outside.. Some people talk 10x lounder than they would normally just because they are on a cell phone, I guess they think it will help with the bad reception.
It is also bad manner to use your cell phone at the theaters or the doctors office too.
Even worse yet... are those Nextel Two-way Radio users who have no clue to turn the fricken speaker off! -

Most of cell phone use is rude. People dont realise how loud they talk on the phone, when they get on that thing. Not only do people drive their car terribly while on cell, but they drive their shopping carts terribly too, and they stop in front of you. They are so oblivious to what is going on around them. Really I am sorry people, but you look idiotic too, especially the ear bugs because it looks like you are talking to yourself. -

Yes!! No one wants to hear your conversation. It's like wearing a hat at the table or being rude to the waiter. You just don't do it.
What really gets me is the people who talk on the phone at a checkout (grocery store, etc.). That's SO rude! -

Unless it's a quick, QUIET call for an important reason. Otherswise; go into the lobby or outside to talk. It's also kind of rude to those you're having dinner with; the message is that the person at the other end of the line is more important than you. -

When it turns from a few words into a long conversation. It's ok to let them know that you and Gladys are out Christmas shopping, and now you're at the Olive Garden for lunch, but please don't start telling them all the stores you've been to and what presents you got for everyone. -

Why consider it more rude than talking to another person at the table? If someone doesn't bother you with their conversation, it shouldn't matter if they use a phone or not. Loud ringing, loud voices and interrupting a meal bother me, but not all cell phone usage. -

It depends on how loud they're talking. if you can hear them talking across the room the yeah its rude, but if they're talking quitly the no.
