I like Jordin but Melinda OBVIOUSLY has an amazing voice and can sing anything!! She was clearly the best singer there. She really should have won. She robably didn;t because she was a little older and not as "cute" as Jordin but she did have a look all her own! -

I'm glad Jordin won over Blake, but I was not happy with the finale because MELINDA should have been in it. I was furious when she was voted off. I voted every week for her, so I did not cast one vote during the week of the finale. The only reason I even watched it was to see Melinda return. That's two years in a row that my favorite contestant (and in my opinion, the most deserving contestant) was voted off in third place. First it was Elliott Yamin, then Melinda. I just hope that Melinda does as well as Elliott has, because she is an amazing singer. -

We have not missed a season since it began, but we will never watch it again. When something is genuine you enjoy it, but the outcome of this show made no sense at all. I am a music major and have been involved in music all my life ( I am 55). I realize that stage presence is part of being a good performer, but stage presence also comes with time. Every American Idol has grown in that area since their win. For heavens sake look at Taylor Hicks, he had to be the stiffest moving man I have ever seen but he still succeeded.
When it comes right down to it, Melinda Doolittle is in the top 3 of all performing american idol contestants since day 1. She should have won the contest without any question. I think a lot of people may have assumed she was going to have a hit career anyway and that is why they turned their votes the other direction. But regardless of what excuse is given, Melinda should have won the competition. Jordin is okay for a 17 year old, but she doesn't have what Melinda has. Melindas career will go a long way and her name will be among the best of performers in years to come, right alongside Aretha Franklin just to name one of them. -

Jordin is like what all of them were saying, "OH she's a good performer", but she is like not that great. I still think that Melinda and Phil Stacy should've been in the finale, but I don't care who won cuz they are both gonna make it big! -

No, I think that Melinda was the best, but she didn't win because she did not meet the show business criteria. Jordin wasn't the best at all! she was chosen because of her potential for that kind of business. I think that if it is meant for Melinda to be a star she will be one because in the eye of society she deserved it. -

The Right Person won American Idol. Jordin not only won by the majority of MILLIONS of votes, she won because she was the best package to sell records. She is beautiful, her smile was genuine, she was consistantly a gerat performer, and she can belt out a great song, anytime she wanted. I will buy her CD, because I know I will enjoy listening to her. Blake had a few songs I liked, but I don't think I would buy his CD. A lot of the Idol folks had great voices, but because of their attitude, style or appearance, I don't have the interest and probably will not buy their CD! I'm proud of Jordin and I think she's a true winner! -

Even though i never liked Melinda or Lakisha i think they were better than Jordin .FYI Jessie Jordin doesnt even deserved it all and Blake was better out of this season and just cause shes young doesnt mean she has the greatest voice like Kelly Clarkson,Fantasia and Carrie Underwood . Plus i think Blake shouldve won.Either way the top 2 will make a cd anyway so why need to choose a new american idol if the american idol is just only gunna make a cd???btw i know in the future that Blake is gunna sell more cds than jordin cause she just got lucky this time. -

All of the judges commented on how Jordin sang so well for being only 17. Usually when something is too good to be true, it usually is. Now we find out that she cheated and had a voice coach and lied about it on her application. Some Idol. I got tired of that breathy way she started all of her sentences. It almost made her sound like she was yodeling. She didn't do it at first. She did it one time and saw that people liked it and she continued it through the rest of the competition. She got on my last nerves mouthing "I love you" at the end of each show. She also does those big toothy grins that make her look like Mr. Ed. It may be cute now. It'll get stale in a while.
Melinda had natural control of her voice. She was far superior to them all if you know anything about singing. I do think that she should have taken more risks but she kept picking songs that were safe. Jordin challenged herself constantly. Blake was good but no one is going to sit and listen to him screech and hiccup through a whole CD. Unless you're a crack or heroin addict. He also needed to do something about those flea market clothes.
I will never waste my time with this show ever because its just a popularity contest. Melinda was the professional but I guess America wanted someone fresh out of pampers just like the voting audience. -

Melinda Dolittle's voice has depth, range, and qualities that far surpass any other contestant. Based on talent, the last two standing should have been Melinda and Jordin with Melinda being the clear winner. Let's hope they both make beautiful music professionally! -

ABSOLUTELY NOT!
Blake should have won, no doubt about it! Jordin can go die in a whole for all I care!!!!!!! And the part that bothers me the most is that people don't realize how much better Blake is! He beatboxed, he sung, he danced, he was an amazing performer!!! WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT???!!! Even if he was having an off day with the singing he still tried to make the performance a little better! He had tons of fans who loved him and wanted him to win more than anything... looks like Jordin ruined another thing besides some really great songs. At the beginning of the season I was sticking up for her because none of my friends liked her and now I totally regret it! But it doesn't matter because we all know that the real American Idol is Blake! -

Blakes definately had some following, but apparently it wasnt the most popular! But then again, it wasn't for you or me to decide, it was Millions of folks who voted for the RIGHT Idol to win. Jordin ruled and she deserves this years American Idol!

Absolutely! Jordin is a wonderful fresh new talent who should have an incredible career ahead of her. She's a positive role model for the younger generation. Her voice is awesome, she has great stage presence, and she's very engaging. I'm wishing her continued success in years to come. -

Jordin Sparks has a wonderful voice and is a beautiful person so all of you guys who say that the show was rigged and jordin didnt deserve it take a look at all the people who are standing beside Jordin and supporting her 100% the girl has a lot of fans deal with it.... if you dont like the fact that Jordin won well then thats to bad...you have that choice of not listening to her music....she's a great person with an amazing voice... and yes Melinda has a wonderful voice and Melinda will still get a deal she may not of won idol but she can still make it all the way with her voice... -

I think that Jordin should have won because she showed more versatility than Blake did. She is young and has an amazing voice for her age and it can only get better for her. Blake was not good to me at all. His voice really irritated me a whole lot. But if I had to really choose Melinda would have been the winner over all. Jordin was good bu melinda is more consistent and she has great control with her voice

Melinda was robbed! She was Much better than both Jordin and Blake and I also refused to watch the finale in protest. If American Idol doesn't change it's voting so that the true talent can win, I won't waste my time watching it. Just as Chris Daughtry was robbed last year, (as is reflected in the record sales), Melinda was too. I truly hope she has a successful career despite the Idol results. Simon was right about her!
