I'm a collector of Swarvoski crystal snowflakes. I missed a few years and so I went to Ebay and was able to win the bids to complete my collection. Every piece I purchased was new and still had the original box. That was important to me as some day I may have to selll the collection for the money. I also won a bid on a beautiful purse and gave it as a gift for Christmas - big mistake - the purse started to fall apart shortly after use. I like Ebay but some times I get skeptical and afraid if I make that purchase I'll end up with a piece of crap. I've learned that the rating system for the Sellers isn't necessarily true. -

I owned a fabric store and when we had scraps - even ONE yard of fabric, people would bid like crazy on it. Sometimes one yard of fabric that you could get at a fabric store for $18 would go for $60!!! People are crazy on Ebay! It got so busy, that I had to stop doing it so I could focus on running my business. I thought about hiring someone to run the Ebay thing. :) -

But Amazon.com has gotten a lot more of my business lately. I wanted to replace some of my old cassettes with CDs, and found some for just a couple bucks. Plus you can make a wish list, and tell people just to buy from that for Christmas or birthdays! -

800 transactions I love ebay!!! only a few who tried to rip me off but after a call to their local lawenforcent I got what I ordered. I have bought four boats and about 8 or nine outboard motors and lots of camera equipment and have had a great time. Most people are honest and deal fairley. I just bought a house boat why I don't know I now have nine boats, I just love fixing up old boats but I get attached to them and much to my wife's complaining I may have to sell one or two. -

I've bought comic books on eBay. Never had a bad experience. You can check the sellers' ratings and any comments that other people have left to make sure they're legit. I wouldn't recommend making any really large purchases until you've done a little bit of homework.
I've actually never bid on anything on eBay. I'm terribly impatient about online purchases, so I only go for the "Buy It Now" items. I couldn't keep track of all the crap I was bidding on. I'd also be pretty peeved if I had the highest bid for a week only to have some joker outbid me a minute before the auction's over. -

Both. Many now refer to e-bay as Fee bay. With their fees on the front and back end of a transaction, the cost to the seller is about 11 percent. You have the insertion fee, the final value fee, in most cases your PayPal fees, and if the item doesn't sell, you pay the insertion fee anyway. I use to sell small items, but now restrict my sales to high value items, where I'm sure to make a profit. If I am able to fix a price, I restrict my sales to Craigslist.com
