SodaHead - What's Bubbling in Your Head?
Just a word of thanks for all you cool folks here on SH. You know who you are. Peace&carrots ;-)?
I joined SH a few days before Xmas. My first encounter with someone was a rude comment she made to me regarding a harmless joke I posted on her poll. I responded by explaining the reason behind the joke so she would understand it was just light hearted and no malice or insult was intended in any way. Which she responded with more insults not only to me, but also my G/f and out some dark place in her own sick twisted mind she implied I was some kind of child molesting perv. I was dumb enough to take the bait and responded with insults directed specifically at her. I admit it wasn't pretty or smart. At which point her posse totally ignoring the fact she started the ugliness with her cheap insults and disgusting conclusions with absolutely no basis of fact and joined in the attack.I was really repulsed by their desultory and selective view of the facts. As well as their eagerness to deny me my freedom of speech rights and to turn around and brag that they did so. Like a bloodthirsty mob with no conscience or sense of right or wrong.
I was ready to bail SH with the attitude of "F these a**holes" but then I started noticing those of you who are truly good folks were also here, so I stayed. Because you people greatly outnumber the small handful that are pathetic trash.
Thank you to those of you that opened my eyes that I enjoy interacting with each day.

Yep, well, I'm chill like that. jk. I hate it when people come after others like a mob and the person being attacked is all, "Woah, whats going on???" And the next thing they know, they wake up in some alley somewhere with a wicked headache and.....never mind. I just took that to far, but yeah, I do hate the mobs. -

There seem to be alot of people on here that cant seem to take a joke or even a difference of opinion. Like you said, they have to bring their posse because they cant do it alone. Im glad you stuck through it to realize everyone on here isnt a useless pud.
And also Id like to thank you for your input and recommendations on ideas for building a guitar -

Part of the problem with folks taking a joke or not is they can't see the smile on the other's face, or hear the tone of their voice. It makes it easier to take things wrong, and sometimes we (me included) jump to the wrong conclusion too fast. And yep, there are a few looosers here, but they are vastly outnumbered by those that aren't.
You're most welcome for the guitar building advice. I think it's a great ambition you have to build your own guitar. If at anytime I can be of assistance in any way, lemme know. I'd be happy to answer any questions and offer encouragement if able. Building your own will be a source of pride and pleasure to last you a lifetime. They're fun to work on too. -

yeah, you told me about this awhile back- I know who you're talking about but not what was said..but I know that the people you mentioned aren't usually ever mean to people so I'm wondering if you've checked to see if it was a misunderstanding? Well, I hope so (that it was). -

I wasn't involved in all of this but I totally agree. Some people on SH take things so seriously and tell you how terrible the thing you said was while saying terrible things themselves and not even realizing it, or they start saying more stupid stuff because their trying to justify the last stupid thing they said, then you get hurt and angry and say things to hurt them and it's just a vicious circle, much like my waistline. OK, now I am confused and I think it is your fault, but nice to meet you anyway Deathspork, glad you stuck around! Uh oh, my dog just farted. Eww! -

And I did apologize and explained my original comment which she in turn replied with a repugnant innuendo that I was a pedophile. And as I stated I was new here. I didn't know I could delete the original comment/joke, let alone how. That is why I apologized with explanation.
It would have been simpler if she wouldn't have deliberately picked a fight with me.
Shoulda, woulda, couldas really don't mean a thing after the fact anyway. -

Had I known my joke would have been taken so harshly, I'd never have made the joke. I never intended to ruffle any feathers. The whole thing spun out of control very quickly. We both made mistakes. I suspect those that were involved would agree.
I think the lesson to be learned here is this:
The written word is not the same as the spoken word.
Although the internet is a a great tool to interact with people all over the world we'd otherwise have no opportunity to do so. One big shortfall is the fact we are not eye to eye, we can't hear the reflections of voice or the look on ones face when they say something. That makes misconceptions of intent very easy. Simply put, the written word is not the same as the spoken word. And mistakes are easily made and sometimes tempers flare as a result.
This person made the mistake of taking what I'd written all wrong. In response I obviously didn't explain myself in a way this person could easily enough understand. Remember, she couldn't see my face or hear the tone of my voice. I made the mistake of not being more patient just the same as this person made the very same mistake with me. The results sucked! -

Perhaps some will read it and understand I'm not just trying to shift responsibility off myself. I $%^ed up, just as the other party did. I acknowledge that even if the other party won't.
