Answered Rock 'n Roll (60's)
There's nothing in the music world that comes close to the 60's & 70's Eras. Those were the days, my friends ... when Life was much less complicated, more vibrant, and when people seemed to care beyond their own personal problems, and helped their neighbors in times of need.
The wild, raw, untamed music of the 60's evolved into metally screeching noise, angry words, and disharmonic sounds that denigrate certain sects of our society. I'm personally not impressed with the crap that comes out today, as a general rule. Some of it is positive and upbeat and has true meaning ... but much of it is just as bad as the pollution in the air we breathe or the pesticides, hormones, or antibiotics in the foods we eat ... toxic. -

Love 60's and 70's rock. Classic rock is great, but no better group for me than the Beatles. You can keep most of the music of today. James Blunt and Death Cab for Cutie are good, other than that...I'll keep my "old time rock and roll". Just bought two collectors items of the Beatles....gotta love it. -
Answered Classic Rock (70's)
But not limited to 70s, that's just what I'd choose from these choices. I love jam bands, which by some would also be considered alternative. My pal Derek Trucks for example. All around great guy and great musician. He is a member of the Allman Bros. Did a world tour with Clapton as a member of his touring band. And then there's the Derek Trucks Band. No way to pigeon hole those guys music type. Their style is sophisticated and unique. There are multiple influences and flavors in their music. Rock, Blues, Jazz, Latin, World, and E. Indian. Here's a sample of Blues based dTb with special guest Derek's wife Susan Tedeschi
