Your thoughts on the State of the Union Address?
Overall, your feelings on the content, or even if you want to talk about the exchange between Clinton and Obama after the speech was over (avoiding each other, etc.). It will be his last one, so let's be open and honest about it. What did you think?-
I heard on ABC National News tonight, that the Rebate Bill passed the House today. Also that it is going to get bogged down in the Senate by "OUR CARING SENATORS" trying to load it up with other Billions for expansion of already existing Programs. Extending Unemployment benefits, for one. Since I entered the work force in 1966 till today, I have never been without a job if I wanted one. Welfare and other programs breed generations that are used to handouts. NOW DON"T START YELLING ANYONE. I understand that there are certain circumstances that warrent that type of assistance, but there are many able bodied people out there that are just sucking it up for as long as possible. Add to that all the freebee's given to the Illegals, and it is little wonder that some of these programs need shoring up. Take the illegals out of the equation and these programs would have plenty of funding, and probably a surplus.

Answered Good.
Some good especially this fact:
"The people's trust in their Government is undermined by congressional earmarks — special interest projects that are often snuck in at the last minute, without discussion or debate. Last year, I asked you to voluntarily cut the number and cost of earmarks in half. I also asked you to stop slipping earmarks into committee reports that never even come to a vote. Unfortunately, neither goal was met. So this time, if you send me an appropriations bill that does not cut the number and cost of earmarks in half, I will send it back to you with my veto. And tomorrow, I will issue an Executive Order that directs Federal agencies to ignore any future earmark that is not voted on by the Congress. If these items are truly worth funding, the Congress should debate them in the open and hold a public vote.
Our shared responsibilities extend beyond matters of taxes and spending."
REMEMBER: WE HAVE A DEMOCRAT CONTROLLED CONGRESS
Answered Subpar.
Same old thing...Puffery, lies, half truths and puffed up gimmicks. I listened as long as possible before I turned it off in disgust.
