It has been taken too far and cast into a negative light only because slavery existed under this flag. However, so did many other things. How about the downfall of the CSA?

People take offense to things to easily, and make huge issues out of nothing. People should be concentrating on our FUTURE.

Of course its a racist symbol they fought for slavery and oppression, my whole family fought against them and everything they stood for! I think it should only be in a museum since its part of a lost past!

The civil war began because the south didn't want to industrialize like the north. Legislators in the north are the ones that actually made slavery an issue. The south just wanted to be able to continue farming because that's what made them so rich. Industrializing would have ruinded that. Freeing the slaves wasn't brought up until later in the war.

Did I mention a certain time or date? No! Ease off before I put my boot where the sun dont shine!
  • raves +1   [-] by Vastrightwingconspiracy
Grow up, you're not putting your little boot anywhere. The south fought AGAINST oppression. It's what the war was all about. Lincoln brought slavery into it as an issue to hide the bigger objective. Think for yourself instead of your public education canned answer. Oh, by the way, I had family on both sides, including Marse Robert.

try putting a boot where the sun don't shine on me and i'll show you how far a southern boot will go up your stupdi a$$

It's a VERY American flag. It was the flag of the Confederate States of America and a huge part of America's history. It's American..

It's a symbol of Hate, which outweighs any other symbolism it might hold

I think it's still used in some forms as a tool to promote racial sentiments. As long as it evolks an emotional reaction in blacks as a racial symbol, it ought to be treated as more criminal than possession of any illegal drug ever has.

The Confederate flag is not a racist flag. It stands for their southern heritage . Why is so wrong for southerners to support their heritage by waving the Confederate flag?

Their are idiots, like the KKK who uses it for hate. And the southerners should be angry at idiots like them for using the Confederate flag in such a way. I was born in the deep south and I like the Confederate flag, because of my southern heritage.
