Do you think it's important for Hillary Clinton's schedules to be released?

More than 11,000 pages of records of Hillary Clinton's days as first lady are released by the National Archives. The papers show what Clinton's schedule was like during the eight years that she argues help qualify her to be president. The move comes in response to a lawsuit brought by a conservative group.

Answered Yes. It will show her true experience as first lady.

Hillary Clinton is relying at least in part on her experience as first lady in saying she is the most prepared candidate to be president. I don't see anything wrong in taking a look at what she actually did during that time so that we can judge whether it is or is not presidential preparation. I don't get to put my husband's job experience on my resume, so Clinton needs to be able to stand on what she actually did. People who might "judge her for not controlling her marriage" (I guess because she should have been home in the kitchen?) have already made up their minds about not supporting her anyway.

Transparency in a democracy is important. This information is relevant to her duties, and it should be revealed.

It's always something. Just like Roseanne used to say. If it's not one thing then it is something else. Hillary has a tough row to how for many reasons and if she makes it to the end without trouble I will be surprised. Can't we just judge candidates for what they say they will do and let all the rest of the speculation go? We all have some baggage so I say let the best person win.

Again I do not elect people to be my moral leader thats not the job they want. Cheating in a marriage is unfortunately common (how many Ministers have Tearfully begged for forgiveness on TV ?) Very few people do not wonder if the grass is greener on the other side. I think the papers will show a very strong spouse who in the face of a personal criss carried on with her programs to help the American People and not run and hide as others have done.

I'm not sure it will show her "experience" at handling a presidential workload, but it will show how she used her time during those years. She's making the claim that those experiences helped prepare her, so she should be willing to back up the claims.

I see nothing wrong with the release of her schedule when she was First Lady. She is the one who made it necessary to do so since she's been claiming that those years' experiences make her a more qualified candidate.
If you're going to claim that the 8 years as First Lady weren't just tea and having school children sing to you, then you need to back it up.

Also, now Obama will have to release his experience records. And we all know he doesn't have much experience except for lying to the voters. I really want to see his records of experience besides piggy backing off of every other candidates answers and ideas.

From what I heard today from those who actually analyzed her records.. looks like her claims are rather substantive.. and as Carl Bernstein ( wrote Hillary bio) said.. to her credit.. she had understated her involvement in foreign affairs. Her capacity was unofficial but appears that she was instrumental in helping to bring peace to Ireland for a certain amount of time. The Irish press might agree with that even tho the American media (who cares) may not. She knew and studied the issues and sat at the table with many world leaders and helped to make a difference, however large or small. I'd call that valuable experience.

I really don't think it will make a bit of difference to voters what her schedule says she did as first lady.

The work she did with foreign affairs was in an unofficial capacity so I don't know how much will show up in these papers but I recently read an article by Lin Farley, Savage Politics.com on 3/17"Hillary's Irish Leagacy: Just Tea?" in which it is pointed out that the people of Northern Ireland "understand that her name does not appear on the Good friday accord formally ending hostilities but Hillary Clinton ot only helped win the peace there, she is still working to maintain it." "In August !999 the Bristish
Secretary for Northern Ireland, Mo Mowlam, told Ireland's Talk Magazine: Hillar is one of the essentail reasons we've had 18 months of relative peace." Irish newspapers and magazines have acknwledged Hillary's role in bringing peace to Ireland while American journalists have tennded to disregard it. This is why it is hard to prove just what she did as first lady in foreign affairs in an unofficial rolde to help in many hot sopts around the world besides serving tea but those countries she worked with know the value she posed to bering differing sides together. Fact.com tries to point some of these out but falls short.

Christ, can't the lady have any privacy? It's telling that some conservative group is bringing this up, especially given the secrecy of the current Administration.
  • raves +3   [-] Jackie G replied to dumdumboy
I know that a group of conservatives started this years ago, but it has become an issue during the primaries in the Dem party. Personally, I don't think it is a big deal. My husband and I discuss many things (sometimes agreeing and other not - politics ect) and I expect she did with her husband too. I think to negate her exposure to the larger political issues because she was "the wife" is just silly. I think we can safely say she had 'insider' information even if Pres Clinton had the final word. I agree on the privacy and I would include all tax returns for all candidates - that is another issue being raised by Obama. The conservatives who pressed this are wrong on this one and so is Obama. I think that, in a way, she made it important. If Hillary says that those years qualify her with experience, then she has a responsibility to let us know how- to let us know what she was doing.

Time for the facts to come out to either PROVe or Disprove all her " Experience" claims.. as long as the majority of the Documents are NOT blacked out.. But then the Clintons are good at Lying!!!

More information is always a good thing. The marriage judgment comment is a bit absurd - people will do that anyway, and frankly, that type of information has little place in a presidency. Of course, ironically many of the messed up people in this country seem to believe that committing adultery is grounds for impeachment whereas misleading the country, violating the constitution, and breaking the law is not.
