It is one thing to receive a blessing that is totally unexpected. It is quite another to BE someone else's blessing. In my life I have met and witnessed some of the lowest, rotten excuses for humanity (some are in my family!). I am proud to say that none of it poisoned me - I still believe that there is no such thing as a wasted kindness as one way or the other it will come back to you. It's the simple and insignificant things that mean so much: a cup of coffee; a few carnations; a greeting card; a smile; an ear and heart to understand; a "Thank you!" Try going out of your way sometime and bestow one or more of these on someone you care about and see if it doesn't have an impact on them - you won't be sorry you did.

That the world is a wonder place is something each one of us must discover. You, personally, can help in acting in ways that are constructive, supportive, in short, kind.
No one is born with the knowledge. The first thing we do is cry.

Are we too far from Eden, or as individuals do we still have time see the best in all people and still live in peace?
  • raves +2   [-] Karl replied to Glasseye
Individually, it's much easier. Its harder to see the best in society as a whole though.

sometimes people just need to talk I guess and it's so easy to say It will be fine tomorrow you'll see,(when has it ever been like that really) When you have lossed it can seem like the whole world is against you,That the world is no longer a good place.(epsecially when you read the news)Grief etc takes time and the best you can do for someone is just be there for them everyday, help them towards the positve side more quickly by being a supportive and good freind.Be that shoulder.Everyone needs help now and then but are to afraid to ask for it,use your intuition, help those in need. It's through friendships like that you realise there is good in this world afterall.

Not only that, you have to live with the attitude of the lesson you want to teach. Otherwise, you'll be seen as nothing more than a hypocrite.
Also, you must share logic, not just those simple responses like, "It will all be better", "Every blackened cloud has a silver line", etc. Though those are wishful thoughts, they are subjective. Why? Because that's not going to be the final pain in anyone's life. The reality is that pain is a life-long experience, as well as joy. In other words, there's going to need to be a lot of silver lines.
People need to be shown that, yes, sometimes are incredibly bleak. But chances are that you aren't the first person in the world to experience that same pain; chances are that you will survive, beyond any pain of loss. No matter how difficult it is, there's always at least one way to push it away.
Sure, it may never be entirely gone. But that pain is no more than a serious memory. What's important is that they learn from others, who share their experience (like a mentor relationship), so that way, they can at least learn how to get started.
No matter how many painful experiences you have in your life, the only way you will ever truly learn to enjoy life is through learning how to tell when a great thing is before them. And I bet that hap...

No matter how many painful experiences you have in your life, the only way you will ever truly learn to enjoy life is through learning how to tell when a great thing is before them. And I bet that happens even more often than the pain. Provided the person can search for at least one benefit to one thing, every day. In other words, stop taking so many things for granted.
For example, I don't know how many days I've woken up, looked up at a blue sky, and thought, "I'm really grateful that you aren't grey and rainy today."
Another simple thing is to remember (I'm sorry this may come off as a little depressing, but if you really think about it, it can be taken otherwise) is that nothing in this world lasts forever; neither do you. You have one life. So are you going to make the effort to enjoy it, or fade away into a depressing lonliness?
I apologize for how long that was.

If you reach out there is always someone worse off than you are.
Even if you are homeless, there is always someone in worse shape.Open your eyes and you will most likely see that your life is not bad at all.
