Third-graders plot to murder teacher! Should these kids be charged with a crime and serve time in jail?
No joke. The prosecutor said they are too young to be charged with a crime under Georgia law!A group of third-graders plotted to attack their teacher, bringing a broken steak knife, handcuffs, duct tape and other items for the job and assigning children tasks including covering the windows and cleaning up afterward, police said Tuesday.

Answered Yes. Maybe not in an adult jail but a youth detention center at least.

Good God, where did they learn to plan out something like that?
When I was in 3rd grade I was learning how to spell, read, and write. It was a nice school, until a more liberal principal got a hold of it. She even had a nose piercing... I was home schooled before the old principal retired, and my best friend went from an innocent kid, to sex craving loon by 4th-5th grade... I was terrified for her, but she was totally digging the new principal and new rules, because they were 'cool'. -

If they could plot a murder than of course they should be put in prison. We've all had bad teachers, but we havent' seriously plotted to kill them!! Wow.. that's really sad and scary. -

I guess this may the product of lax parenting and an all to liberal education at an early age.
Liberals will try to paint it as the fault of video games, Television and violent movies. It is the fault of a liberal society, thats where the fault lies.
These children do not belong in jail/proison but they do belong in detention where they can get help - they do not deserve a slap on the wrist but in earlier years maybe a swat on the ass would have helped.

Yeah, I read about that. Although, to be completly fair, when they were questioned none of them said anything about wanting to 'murder' her. They weren't planning on killing her, they just wanted to hurt her or scare her. But, still, they are kinda messed up in the head. And I think they should be put in Juvie or something for a bit. -

So this kind of scares me. My brother is the same age as the kids who did this AND i live very close to where it happened. I don't think that locking them away somewhere would be helpful. Could you imagine what they would be like when they got out. Probably even more hostile. I think they need to go through some serious counseling, and not be allowed back at that school. Someone needs to try and find what made them think that trying to kill their teacher was good idea. -

Answered No. The solution is simple, let children know who is in charge by beating them.
Kids today need a good beating every now and then. I bet these 3rd grader's get "punished" by being sent to their room where they can play Gamecube all day instead of belting them.
