That is really not a fair question. If I say Texas, I would be lying, at least to myself because I am from Texas, if I said any other state it would offend someone else who happens to be proud of their home state. I would rather say that America is ok.

I don't know where the worst state is. I know that the best state hands down is California. After living here, I could never live anywhere else in the country. Nothing could even compare.

So according to this posting Texas and Florida make the category because the Bushes reside or govern in it.Wow,then why not list Illinois too?Obama lives there (so do I).Now we're left with Michigan.Have you ever been in the UP?(upper peninsula).Probably not.If I wanted to categorize I would have gone by:crime rate, level of education, cost of housing, median income, air pollution etc.etc.Read Dr.Tim comment about "the state of ignorance".A perfect answer.By the way what's with the alligator thing? To answer your poll,I will never live in California.

Hey Illinois or California - those are fine answers by me. And, just so you know, yes I've been to the UP many, many times. I was born and raised in the Detroit area.
  • raves +1   [-] by .
Why would you never live in California? I mean, I'm glad. We have enough people here and more keep coming so we don't need you. I'm just wondering what people have against this state. I've always just blown it off because I figure everyone else is jealous, but I figure I could give you a chance to explain yourself.

California. Where celebrities literally get away with murder.
  • raves +3   [-] by Fef
For that reason alone, I can almost agree with you. Though, other states have their share of juries that allow murderers off for various reasons: racism, money, good looks, etc...
  • raves     [-] by BensonFan
You make a good point. I supposed the celebrity cases in California are so well publicized it distorts the bigger picture.

And where the weather is perfect, you can go to the mountains, the desert, the beach, and the forest all in one day. Where there is an endless supply of things to do. It's the seventh largest economy in the world, and the very reason the United States is the world power it is. Oh yeah, I can totally see what you're saying. I think someone is jealous.

That is just silly. I can move there if i want. And you left out the earthquakes, the traffic, the smog , the mudslides and the huge fires.
  • raves     [-] by .
That's ok. We don't need you here. I can hang out at the beautiful beach right down the street from my beautiful house just fine without you. That is, unless you want to visit. Then, I'd be glad to show you all of the sites... They're all practically walking distance from my house.

It's either earthquakes, tornadoes, hurricanes, or tsunamis. Every state has its problems. I've lived through some pretty big earthquakes, and they aren't that bad. I'm pretty far from the fault line anyway, so I'm not worried.

I do not believe any of the states are the worst. I have had bad luck in Florida because my granddaughter was killed by an alligator, but every state has its own problems.

OK you got me, that was a mean one, But, for the record I'm from Michigan. I just happen to see a pattern of bad luck in these places and wonder if anyone else does too.
