What is your opinion on the teenagers who brutally bashed a female cheerleader and filmed it hoping to be famous?
Eight teenage girls have been arrested and charged in the US with beating another teen so they could make a videotape to post on YouTube.16-year-old Victoria Lindsay was attacked by six teenage girls when she arrived at a friend’s house on March 30.
An arrest report stated that the girl had her head smashed into a wall several times, knocking her unconscious.
Later, according to a clip of the video that was released by the Polk County sheriff's office, the teens can be seen blocking a door and hitting Victoria.
"It's absolutely an animalistic attack," Sheriff Grady Judd said today on NBC television's Today show. "They lured her into the home for express purpose of filming the attack and posting it on the internet."
After the attack, three of the teens forced the victim into a vehicle and drove her to another location, where she was told she would be given a worse beating if she contacted police.
All eight suspects were arrested April 2 and charged with battery and false imprisonment. The three teens who took Lindsay to the second location are also charged with felony kidnapping.

Send these kids to a juvenile facility until they are adults, then transfer them to ajail facility for adults for a few years. The parents of the minor children should be held responsible for the financial burden the girls parents will incur for medical and physcological care. If any of these brutual criminals are over 18 they must go to jail and pay restitution in the total amount necessary to make the family whole.
The mug shots for these criminals should be plastered all over the internet, tv and print media so that they never have a normal life again. -

I think they all deserve to be prosecuted to the max of all maxes!!! If you are going to be big and bad enough to do the crime then you can certainly do the time. Those cowards premeditated the beating, planned on making it public and lured her and held her against her will. I realize that they're young and may not have thought out the consequences, but come on now.........it's 2007 and you don't get away with things like this anymore. I was so ill reading the story and couldn't even sit there to watch the video. I have to admit it made me want to make them feel her pain, but they will pay the price the rest of their lives. -
raves +1 Apr 16, 2008 03:31PM GMTGREAT comment, and take on the situation...
Your comment should be one of the poll answers Monique!!
I'm not voting in the poll because i do not want to have to select undecided, then try to explain to people that it "doesn't" take a village to raise a child, it takes "responsible" parents who teach their children right from wrong.....
it goes much deeper than just these kids and what they've done.....
Our moral baseline is being lowered daily, or family values are being thrown in the gutter just because some singer, or someone famous is idolized by today's youth...
When a kid does something wrong, it's always someone. or something else's fault isn't it? Oh poor poor baby she/he got picked on in school, or his/her daddy left mom, or any other number of things that are passed off as excuses for poor behavior and wrong doing..
What ever happened to knowing the difference between right and wrong?
No one can convince me that the youth of today are THAT stupid... I've seen some of the things they can accomplish... I simply know better than to buy that kind of stupidity... -
raves +1 Apr 19, 2008 05:41AM GMTI agree that the parents are to blame...to a certain extent. These are not little kids, and they do know right from wrong. At what age do we start holding kids responsible for their actions? When do we make it clear to them that they can't spend the rest of their life blaming other people?

If the truth be told, I think they should be done in. If they think this an appropriate way to handle their problems, then it will only get worse as they get older. Save prison space and more than likely someone's (or several someones') lives - end it now. You don't keep a rabid dog around just because it's young. -

These choices don't make a lot of sense! But these girls are facing some hard jail time, possibly, even life. Good! Life probably won't happen. But a good amount of jail, will. They have been charged with 2 felonies (kidnapping and witness tampering) and, I believe, 9 misdemeanors. The fact that they held this girl in this house for over 25 minutes knocking her unconscious, at one point, and waiting until she woke up and started whaling on her again. The fact that this victim didn't even try to fight back and was in no way encouraging this beating to keep going on & on, like it did - will put these girls away from sometime. This is going to be the real justice, in this case.
These girls are monsters & idiots! Girls beating up on each other is getting to be an epidemic, in this country! With the onslaught of being able to post these vicious attacks on the internet. This judge has no other choice but to give these girls some very serious punishment for what they did to their victim. What arrogant idiots these girls were. They looked so pitiful while standing before the judge and hearing the charges brought against them. They sure looked sorry that they got caught. But they were so arrogant to believe that by threatening their victim that nothing would happe...These choices don't make a lot of sense! Just the act of threatening their victim to remain silent about this crime, is one more felony charge brought against. They were too stupid to realize what they were getting themselves into. Serves them right for whatever conviction is handed down to them!(less) -
