I think it's great the company provides a smoking lounge. But I also think it's degrading to have that mural. If they have company cars do they have the same thing on the headliner? More people die from car accidents than from smoking. It is just uncalled for. Not really a big deal, just uncalled for. IMO -

I smoke and that is my choice. When will people stop trying to force others to do what they think is best for them. We know that cars produce not only pollution but cancer too. Will we outlaw cars as well. Homes and offices can make people sick what laws do we pass or measures do we take to fix this. -

I think this is funny. I'm impressed they have a "smokers room" with a ceiling at all, most places you have to go outside to smoke. That's what my complaint would be not the ceiling painting but that there are people smoking inside. And before I get a whole bunch of nasty comments I myself am a smoker but I don't like the idea of a smoking lounge. I've actually never even heard of it. But to answer the question I think there's no harm in this painting, as a smoker it's not making me think twice about lighting up a cigarette. For those that are upset about it why? How is this insulting it's a known fact that smoking can kill you, it's not like they are just assuming. I think that the idea that if they have this moral they have to have one for the snack machine and elevator is a little extreme. Over reacting is something people love to do, and that's all this is. It's a painting if you don't like it smoke outside. -

Oh the joy of having them uncomfortable! You know, like how they make a lot of non-smokers feels. Esp when they get on their high horses about their choices. Yes. You have choices. I choose NOT to die of tar in my lungs, please stop inflicting it on me when I go out places.
Thanks! -

I personally find smoking quite offensive, but believe in others having free choice (even if it's not a good choice). My hubby smokes & the kids and I dispise it. I would love to have this painted in our home as a silent reminder of his poor choice and what it's doing to him.... -

I have to agree with Fef on the antagonistic aspects of the mural. I don't smoke and I don't care if other people choose to - as along as I don't have to breath the second hand smoke.
The only problems I have with smokers is that I don't get the same 15 minute break every hour the smokers seem entitled to and I don't get to sue someone for millions when a bad habit takes its bodily toll.

I appreciate a company that cares about the health of its employees. And, while I do not smoke, I find this painting quite insulting and antagonistic. Should the same company have a death mural next to the snack machine or not even have a snack machine? Or a weight/scale to step on before you get in the elevator? I think the health police have gone too far.
