Do you warm up your car before you drive?

A mechanic/friend told me that 70% of all car problems start to happen because drivers don't warm up their cars before driving. He said that is good to leave the ignition on for at least 5 minutes before driving, especially in the morning. He told me that ALL cars need to be warmed up otherwise you are shortening the life of your motor.

I don't know if this is true but just something I thought I could share with you guys.

My husband would get pissed if I let it warm up.He told me to jump in and go is better for it.It gets it up to temp quicker= less wear.

I just turn the jeep on and take off. I read somewhere that modern cars don't need warm ups so all warm ups do is waste gas if you're driving one.
