There is a fair amount of this type corruption...but benefits don't stop here.. the prisons are another good choice, and perhaps the drug cos' have some benefit as well. Not a smoker, but see no problem with hemp. -
Hi JaknHarely, I would have put that option if I was asking about real drugs like coke, heroin, crack or speed. I do not believe they are messing with the pot. Everyone talks about drug dealers but from what I have seen around the country the real criminal type drug dealers don't even mess with pot anymore. It's so bulky, hard to hide, and not really a big profit margin. Most of what I see are a few local people either grow a few pounds or pick up a kilo or 2 and split it up. I'm sure there are some out there that actually smuggle a little weed but I don't believe any organized crime faction see it as proftable enough for the risk. Back in the early 70's I could get a half ton for $55.00 a kilo delivered to El Paso, and sell it for $125 to $150 a pound in the east, and it was worth it. Hell you could check a couple of 100lb dishpack boxes as luggage and fly it back. These days I wouldn't carry a 100 lbs across the street. Now it's never as much as as ounce for me. Just what I'll smoke myself. Too much risk, too little profit. I seriously doubt it is something the CIA would mess with. Real drugs, different story.
