the pets most people dont think of, how are they for being pets.
  • raves     [-] by Bite Me (XSA)
If you ever had one you would ditch the dogs and cats. Sometimes they are like little people with four hands.

i can like all dogs an cats. i have ran into however small chances of it hapening, the Pincher an Rotwiler breeds. Ocationaly they have a problem with thier brains out growing the skull, witch causes pain aswell as well as a temperment problem. I do however like them as well, for i got to see a buitifull Rotwiler Mastif as border guards for East germany.

Dogs definately have a use like with some protecting or helping the handycap people. I miss having cats with them laying on sore spots. Really did make me feel better. I just do not like it when they laydown next to your face. with thier fur it bothered me when I was sleeping, making me itch an all. I also had hamsters, gerbles, rats, an mice as well. Like at the moment I have an Akida.

I love dogs. I have a Sheltie (miniature collie) now and have had many dogs over the years. I have a cat too, and I love her, and I really like cats, but I don't care for cats quite as much as dogs.

Over the years when my kids were little we had rats, mice, gerbils (mean, nasty little things), hamsters, birds, fish, and turtles.

There's no way I would live in the same house as a snake. And I have no interest in having a spider.

I prefer dogs. Right now I have a great dane. As a child i preferred cats. That changed when I had one that drooled everytime you touched her. I have one now, but she don't like me. So cats are not my favorite anymore. My dog named Kitty is the best.
  • raves +1   [-] by RED
I never had a cat that drooled but have had both. My first cat that I can remember of, I named Jimmy Carter for the govenor of the state I was born in. He was the smallest in the litter, but grew up to be a 20 lbs cat. Who was more like a guard cat an loved our my dog Missy.

I always wanted a hugh fat cat. But I get these crazy wild ones that stay fit. I could never get a lazy one. Oh I didn't tell you my cat is named Pup. I love confusing my grandkids.

I had somebody on my paper rout as a young teenager who hada fat cat. Most of the cats I had were sort of lazy, but never seemed to get fat. I did have one cat that was crazy who started out the smallest, an turned out to be a large cat not fat but biult. He had one time gone after a dog that was growling at my mom an me. He had gotton out side an wecould not catch him that sucked, I eally like him he was my first one.

my step mom had a cat that wieghed 20 lbs. it was a orange cat too like garfield. he died of feline HIV though. he was a mean mother too!
  • raves     [-] by RED
i also had a cat that was around that wieght, that ended up being a dog better. Thier was a dog that started to get agresive towards my ma an he went after it. dang nere tore one of its eyes out. That is another good reason for having a cat, they can be loyal an very protective too.

    ferrets
  • raves     [-] by RED
I never had ferrets but have know people who have owned 2 of them. Besides a smell they were pretty cool to handle.
  • raves     [-] by River
Ya, they are not the best smelling of critters. But they are so darn cute.

  • raves     [-] by RED
Yes they are very cute an yes they certainly stink. The only think you have to is, bath the like every other day or so two make it so its not so bad. You do how ever got to clean thier cage every day, that does give you time to play with them. That can be fun to do especaily when you got to keep your eyes on them so they dont exscape. The little bugers are such exscape artist you know. Thier like babies that are crawling an getting into everything it is a job an a half to do. I also wanted to say the picture is cute.
  • raves     [-] by River
They sure do like to get into trouble. I remember I bought a 'ferret hammock' for mine. He threw himself on it an chewed at it until he finally trashed it and it lay on the floor of his cage. I swear he clucked happily to himself for a good hour doing a victory dance on it. Then he buried it at the bottom of his litter box.
  • raves     [-] by RED
The ones my friends had could get a little destructive, but over all they were good pets. Except with small kids that don't know better on how to handle them. So when the little ones were around we would not let them out just to be safe.
  • raves     [-] by candass
when we had a ferret my mom was so upset cause we lost him for a week. then we found him curled up in a drawer with all the dishrags sleeping. he also use to get into my moms purse and bite holes in her cigs so when shed light them up smoke would come out the holes. he was a little stinker he was cool though.

We have 2 dogs, 2 cats, a hamster, a rabbit & a savannah monitor. We've also had a frog and many fish. All of the pets we've had have been great in their own way.
