Does Obama's "bitter" and "clinging to religion" statement, really reflect his own church?
With the exception of the guns, do you feel, Obama's statement, was really a reflection of the people of his own church, and wonder why he didn't explain the "frustration" of Rev. Wright, in such a manner?"And it's not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations."

Answered yes...here's why
Yes , and the fact that he denounced and left his church that he has belonged to for 20 years just proves to me that he is guilty of the same opinions, feelings and beliefs of his former fellow congregation members. Anyone with a brain should be able to conect the dots. GUILTY GUILTY GUILTY. Shame on you Obama . What kind of person turns their back on their religon and church that they have attended for so long ? A political candidate that is trying to make believe he is someone else so he can get elected. NO one could ever make me leave my church. -

All this is nonsense about not knowing Rev. Wright's beliefs. All the values and beliefs that I hold in my heart came from the church I grew up in even though I was never an avid church goer. I could miss weeks to months and knew what kind of message I would receive whenever I did attend as each minister has a "style/mode" of delivering his message and that does not change from week to week. What my church held dear to its heart so do I, still to this day. -

“The Candidate”
It is said”Great leaders are born and Dangerous leaders are made, one being a Legacy the other Lethal”.
A boy is born on the far edge of a great nation. Although not born full blood of his country, he struggles to find his place having issues of identity, class and race.
When at a young age he loses his mother to cancer and is left alone to piece together his life and to make a place in it.
Years pass and the young man grows with confidence and prejudice, and during this time he formulated many ideas on politics and race. It’s these ideas that will have immense consequences in the future.
The young man was influenced by a prominent religious leader. One that appealed to the lower and middle classes, but was at most an opportunist.
The man would eventually make his way into the second largest political party of his country.
This same man would also become a best selling Author. His book based on a time and place in his life that was filled with humiliation, fury, violence and despair. It was a time when he felt of being in two different worlds and belonging to neither.
The book brought him wealth and recognition as well as a strong voice to the political party.

His country has suffered many years at war. The population was suffering from poverty, misery, and uncertainty amid increasing political instability.
The stock market is unstable and sent financial markets worldwide into a tailspin with disastrous effects. His country now depended on foreign loans and trade. The citizens of this mighty nation are being laid off and losing jobs, financial institutions are failing making it hard for families to purchases necessities with the country’s devalued money.
The general population in his country is looking for a solution, any solution.
It was at this time when the quite and peaceful man in his forties stepped up to represent his political party as a candidate, one for change. Change would be his slogan throughout his campaign and a promise of a very different style of politics.
This candidate had a gift of speech and could play on the emotions of his audience, an audience very willing to listen. In his speeches he offered his constituents what they needed most, encouragement.
He gave them tons of vague promises while avoiding the details. He used simple catchphrases, repeated over and over. The masses surrendered to his will and looked upon him with immense religious adoration.
Promising a new generation of political leaders, he offered work to the unemployed, hope to failed business, profits to new industries, and most of all social harmony and restoration of his country’s glory.
He promised order amid confusion and a feeling of unity to all, with a chance to belong. He appealed to all classes of people.
His chief asset is his speech making ability and a keen sense of what the people wanted to hear. He aroused the curiosity of the world press as well as the local media.
The people were tired of misery, suffering, and a weak government that has lost the respect from countries around the world. Most of these things blamed on the current administration.
His rehearsed speeches and charm influenced all who listened. It gained him strong support and financial funding from politicians, bankers, Industry, and upper class socialites looking to gain favors with his nomination to the greatest and most important position in his country.
With his keen and sinister insight into mass psychology, he is a master in manipulation of the masses, while playing by the rules of Democracy.
By now you more than likely know the name of this very popular candidate.
His struggle with identity was that of being part Jewish.
His influential religious leader was Karl Lueger.
His best seller book was “Mein Kampf”.
The country is Germany.
The candidate is “Adolf Hitler”.
The rest is history.
Be smart; don’t gamble on something your unsure of just for change.
“It is best to suffer with dignity than submit to disgrace”
This is just food for thought. It is based on historic fact and is not insinuating any particular candidate running today. It could never happen in America with a secure check and balance Democracy in place. Americans would never fall for such a candidate, or would they?

Answered No, here's why....
He said what said because of where he was and thought it would play well to that small crowd. He never thought it would leave that area and felt safe doing so. He joined and stayed in that church to get a leg up on his career not because he had any interest in the church itself. Obama will do and say anything if it will get him what he wants. He keeps proving it over and over again! -
raves +3 May 12, 2008 01:28PM GMTJoin the movement for a mass defection from the DNC, by switching to Independent or no-party. The defection is happening JUNE 1-8.
The DNC has received thousands and thousands of phone calls, emails and letters threatening to leave the party. The arrogant bastards just blow it off as “emotional responses to the passion for their candidates” and shamelessly repeat- “oh, they’ll (the sheeple) come home in November”. I urge all supporters of Hillary and those who are fed up with the DNC and their unabashed agenda to nominate Obama to make a STRONG impact- something much more effective than threats!
There are millions of Hillary Clinton supporters who will not support the coronation of Obama, against the will of the people. Especially without FL and MI being counted AND having a say in the nomination (not just seated like HD wants! No, No, NO- God bless America!).
Join the mass defection JUNE 1-8 and register as an Independent. REMEMBER- Independents are permitted to vote ANY party they choose in the General Election.
There is a special note to FL and MI voters, and to voters who have not had their primaries yet.

You are beginning to sound like those propagandists who lied about Saddam's WMDS and led America into the most devastating error to put 4073 young American soldiers in their graves and thousands and thousands to spend their lives with either physical/mental disabilities. It's people, like you, who should be questioning the type of religious influences you've been receiving. -

Oh I get so mad when I read those comments taken out of context. It is true that small town people want to keep their guns. I live in a small town in Idaho, and it does not get any more small town than this. When I ask who they are voting for, they say McCain because he will not take their guns away. I believe it and have seen it. What Obama meant is that they feel those are the only votes that count. Obama is far from out of touch, he has worked his but off to get where he is today. Look at Clinton, she was raised in a rich white household. She was fed a silverspoon and her dad was highly involved in politics. She has has her way all her life. I am not saying that Bill has not done some bad things to her, but she had a lot of things set up for her because of who her family knew. This is not so for Obama. He did

Answered Yes....but he obvious has more sympathy for his church, than for people in small towns.
