raves +1 Aug 19, 2008 07:09PM GMTI'm a Goth, and yes, I'm in High School. But unlike mallgoths, I actually know Goth music, and the ideologies that go along with Gothic culture. However, the "Goth" music you posted is not what I listen to. I listen to more of Gothic metal, like Theatre of Tragedy and Tristania, and symphonic metal, like Nightwish and Epica, and then whatever Emilie Autumn is.
You can not solely judge what is Goth and what is not on music. The culture has grown into so much more than that. I feel I belong to the scene because of some kind of sense of belonging, even though I don;t any other Goths personally. I also think it's about the art of the culture, not just music, but dance, theatre, literature, and visual art too. -

I have nothing against you and definitely not the bands you listen too. (kamelot being one of my favorite, but I still call that power metal and not goth. the difference is sadness and fantasy.)
Honestly I find the whole goth labeling immature. I mean, do you really want to be another one of the cattle. Be different, be yourself.
