the goth culture is a bunch of preteen bitches
  • raves   -1 [-] Michelle <3 replied to ☠KING☠
If you havent noticed pretty much everyone is into slipknot or some other stupid metal band.Even preps want to be emo/goth kids
  • raves +2   [-] ☠KING☠ replied to Michelle <3
slipknot is not goth... get shit straight before judging it. Real goth music sounds like this:

that is real goth music. Unlike that slipknot crap. Anyone in highschool that says they are "goth" is a complete ignorant bitch.
  • raves +1   [-] Magzilla replied to ☠KING☠
That depends on the type of goth you are. Not all listen to this style of music.
  • raves +1   [-] ☠KING☠ replied to Magzilla
then you dont know goth culture
  • raves +2   [-] Magzilla replied to ☠KING☠
I have been part of the culture for more than 10 years now. I know it pretty well.
  • raves +2   [-] ☠KING☠ replied to Magzilla
obviously not. I have worked in the music business for the past 4 years, including live, internet, and radio
  • raves +1   [-] Magzilla replied to ☠KING☠
So you think the only style of music that Gothic people listen to is like the stuff you posted?
Pft!... I can see the 4 years in the business has served you well.
  • raves +2   [-] ☠KING☠ replied to Magzilla
ok then, what music is it?
  • raves +2   [-] Magzilla replied to ☠KING☠
What about the basics first off, Bauhaus, Christian Death, Alien Sex Fiend, The Virgin Prunes, Joy Division and Siouxsie & the Banshees.
Not all of the music is EBM was the point I was making
  • raves +3   [-] ☠KING☠ replied to Magzilla
    LMAO

Its all considered Goth though. I think we got mixed up. I just didnt put down more examples. Im saying that metal, is not goth.

    and this

    is not a goth band
  • raves +3   [-] Magzilla replied to ☠KING☠
That is true, but I think it should be noted that there isn't one style of goth music.
  • raves +3   [-] ☠KING☠ replied to Magzilla
I will give you that. sorry, i wasnt understanding what you meant, :) now i do. and you are right.
  • raves +3   [-] Magzilla replied to ☠KING☠

  • raves +4   [-] ☠KING☠ replied to Magzilla

I'm a Goth, and yes, I'm in High School. But unlike mallgoths, I actually know Goth music, and the ideologies that go along with Gothic culture. However, the "Goth" music you posted is not what I listen to. I listen to more of Gothic metal, like Theatre of Tragedy and Tristania, and symphonic metal, like Nightwish and Epica, and then whatever Emilie Autumn is.

You can not solely judge what is Goth and what is not on music. The culture has grown into so much more than that. I feel I belong to the scene because of some kind of sense of belonging, even though I don;t any other Goths personally. I also think it's about the art of the culture, not just music, but dance, theatre, literature, and visual art too.
  • raves +1   [-] ☠KING☠ replied to Jayna
lol, I forgot about you people. But still, I wouldnt call it goth. Goth died in the 80's. I have nothing against you and definitely not the bands you listen too. (kamelot being one of my favorite, but I still call that power metal and not goth. the difference is sadness and fantasy.)

Honestly I find the whole goth labeling immature. I mean, do you really want to be another one of the cattle. Be different, be yourself.

typical people who calls themselves goth: fantasy honestly goth labeling immature cattle typical people calls goth

fantasy honestly goth labeling immature cattle typical people calls goth

do you really want to be associated with asshats like that?

honestly goth labeling immature cattle typical people calls goth asshats
  • raves +1   [-] Jayna replied to ☠KING☠
You mean associating myself with overweight, "scary" people? I have nothing against them, but I fit into size 0 and I don't really overdo the whole thing. Well, maybe the eyeshadow, when I'm trying to copy high fashion models' looks.

Yes, Kamelot is very good. :) But I only have one album of theirs...
  • raves +1   [-] ☠KING☠ replied to Jayna
    which one?
  • raves +1   [-] Jayna replied to ☠KING☠
    "Ghost Opera: The Second Coming"
  • raves     [-] ☠KING☠ replied to Jayna
sweet, their best was "the black halo"
  • raves +1   [-] Jayna replied to ☠KING☠
I love the duet they did with Simone Simons from Epica, "The Haunting". It came as a live track on this CD.
  • raves +1   [-] wendol replied to ☠KING☠
dude where did you get the pictures of all these trolls
  • raves +1   [-] KAITLYN1 replied to ☠KING☠
Anyone over high school or college and calling themselves goth needs to get a life!

    *peering oiver my glasses atcha*

... that's a fair number of accomplished & talented folks you're leveling that at, including musicians., many of whom I play on my music show. http://www.myspace.com/evsund... There's a ton on of goths on SH with dayjobs.

People who I bet have done more than you have with your negativity.
  • raves     [-] Jayna replied to KAITLYN1
And how do you figure that? Goth is a community... Why is it so bad for people to dress the way they want and listen to what they want and talk to like-minded people if you're over high school or college age? That makes no sense.
