I wish there was a none of the above. First things first, emo has nothing to do with cutting and self harm. Self harm is a mental disorder that you can be insitituionalized for- trust me I know, my cousin was when she was younger. Emo is a legitimate sub culture nowadays, judging by how many there are. The word emo is derived from the word "emocore"; emotional hardcore. Emocore showed up in the mid eighties, and was defined by bands that chose to write about their personal feelings and lives instead of traditional political hardcore. Anyways, like I said, its now a legitimate subculture, with its own defining music, dress, outlook, and personal politics. -
Answered All of the above
Though these can be all true. Emo means a short vert for {emotional}.
To me personally it's screeming for help in a way of self decipline and becoming physically, emotionally equipt for society life in an different response. I feel it is unprepared strain and a cry for help!
I also feel sorry for them from people label or mock them, we are all equal{on the same boat} in value sense of the word.
