Do you recycle?

Recycling is the reprocessing of materials into new products. Recycling prevents useful material resources being wasted, reduces the consumption of raw materials and reduces energy usage, and hence greenhouse gas emissions, compared to virgin production.

Not because I am a tree-hugger but because of my obsessive-compulsive disorder.

If there is a can on the street or in a resturant, mall, etc. then I'll
toss the bottle in there. Otherwise I dont. But I really dont use much
in the way of plastics or paper. I reuse my gatorade bottle over and
over(after washing), to mix the power in. So in our house there really
isn't that much to be recycled.

We don't have different trash bins at our apt. Once we have a house and are provided the different bins, we will.

We have a recycling program at work ranging from paper to bottles. We never throw our bottles away, my husband oftenb refers to to me as , "the recycling police"

I recycle what I can, when I can. "Always" is a bit optimistic though it was closer than "sometimes."

We never used to, but we are starting to now. I've become a total environmentalist lately. I've got my clothes line so that I don't have to use the dryer, I'm a nut about turning off the lights when not in use & now I am a recycler! =) I figure that what is around us is all we have, so we may as well do what we can to keep it, and treat Mother Nature with a little respect. So, atleast if the planet catches on fire, my concious won't be bothering me.

In our town they give this little bucket to put or recycles in it is rediculious. Give a 32 gallon trash can and I could and would fill it weekly. Right now I can only recycle cans.

I've even been known to pull plastic, glass, cardboard, and office paper out of my coworkers' trash cans to take it home for my recycler!

I'm not a radical tree hugger but I recycle everything that they will take on trash day - plastics and metal food and beverage cans. It seems foolish to throw plastic and metal in the trash when you can reuse them and avoid mining the raw materials from the ground to make new ones.

I love recycling!! I even take stuff out of the regular trash and move it to the recycle bin. I remember lining up our cans/bottles at college outside of trash cans to make it easier for the homeless people to collect/recycle.
  • raves +1   [-] Tammy replied to Fef
College kids that put bottle/cans out would be a gold mine for the homeless!!

I ALWAYS RECYCLE HUMANS. THEY ARE THE MAIN INGREDIENT IN MY COMPOST.

I AM A ROBOT, I AM FROM THE FUTURE.
  • raves +1   [-] Fef replied to SUPERROBOT
How many aluminum cans did it take to make you? Probably all cheap American beer cans at that!
  • raves +2   [-] SUPERROBOT replied to Fef
Only a human would request data in a unit of mesurement as rediculous as a can of beer. Aluminum is not considered a valued material in robots designed to crush humans. Human crushing robots require metals to be denser, since denser metals crush humans far more ease.
Back to your human request. The total aluminum content of my body, if weighed in HBCU (Human Beer-Can Units) would be about 20,854.209 SP (Six Packs).

I AM A ROBOT, I AM FROM THE FUTURE.

barely recycle because there are still many limitations where I live (recycling is not a mandatory part of garbage collection and/or local collection centers are quite limited in which materials they take). we need more awareness, more centers, more recycle bins in public spaces, and mandatory curbside recycle bins for trash day.
