Morality question: If you are walking past a body of water and you notice your dog/cat are drowning and about fifty yards away a woman is drowning and you can only save one, who do you save?

To answer this question I'd have to know the political affiliation of the woman! In all seriousness, and with a heavy heart, I would have to save the woman. The value of human life vs animal life is clear to us all. There is a chance she will contribute to us all for decades to come. My dog will contribute to my life for only 10 years, or so. So with a heavy heart and tears streaming from my eyes, I would abandon my dog and save a woman who I would then insist must then cure cancer or do some other spectacular good for mankind. My dog was not to have died cheaply! -

save the woman- humans are more important than animals, and besides most animals have a natural instinct to swim. may not always look graceful but they usually swim and get to land. However, if i threw the woman in in the first place probably save the pet -

If they want to go through life thinking that one species of animal has more right to live than another just because they happen to be a member of that species, then so be it. I just don't subscribe to that delusion and genuinely feel sorry for them. But like I said, that's their problem and they are the ones that will have to live with their choices.

Besides, be happy when somebody DR's you because what you achieve, when someone DR's you, is to Out a toilet-dwelling coward, whose life is so empty, whose morality is so depleted, whose circle of friends and family is so empty, whose ability to express a cogent thought is so poor, that they are limited to throwing a rock and running like hell to preserve their anonymity.

raves May 04, 2008 04:35PM GMTYou are very correct on the DR issue that is why I wish those that DR would have to be announced, then they would only use it correctly, for when someone using foul language or explict language or pictures.
But if you look through this poll the majority of the DRing went to those of us who picked pet, so much so that some of our answers are hidden. -
