Answered Undecided
i don't know. i might watch if i have nothing else to do or to watch. i probably will watch the opening--a little of it i guess. there's way too much drama. and it seems like everyone is forgetting about the athletes. like how hard they are training and stuff. but--good luck to all and go usa!!!! -

Answered No, I could care less
The Olympics lost it's magic for me when the U.S. started allowing "dream teams" to participate. Professional athletes should not be allowed to participate in amateur sporting events.
As for boycotting because it's in China...Meh, who really cares? -

Answered Yes, I'll watch
i'm watching because i support the athletes. besides, i highly doubt protesting the olympics by not watching will make any change in the way the chinese government treats its own or other people, no matter how much we all wish it would -

China should never been giving the privilege of hosting the Olympic games.
As much as I support the athletes, I am not going to watch the games. This is my method of protesting. It's not just what the Chinese gov't is doing to Tibet, but to their own citizens. The ones tossed out on the street with an hours notice to build the stadium. The other crack downs/imprisonments/beatings they have done to their countrymen. -

Answered Yes, I'll watch
I'll watch as much as I usually watch...which isn't really all that much.
BUT - when I watch, it's to see how the US is doing in thier competitions, so, in a way, I'm supporting the athletes.
I do not support China. I don't like thier politics and slave labor and so on....but boycotting it really only hurts the athletes. The only way it's actually going to "hurt" China is if all of the athletes decided not to show up. -

Read an article telling of a firing squad execution of an 11 year old for adding a mustache to a political portrait. Having fought communism personally I refuse to be supportive in any way. As one other said, I'll watch in hopes of seeing their asses kicked. -

I usually watch part of the olympics, but they are just games. I am not sure how I feel about the boycott. I think there are so many that have trained and worked so hard for this, and it would be sad for them not to be able to participate. -

Answered No, we need to protest China
I have no intention of watching the China games. I think that it was a tremendous mistake for them to get the games. They may have been a ally of convenience against the Soviets during the cold war, but those days are long gone. I am greatly disturbed that U.S. corporations have invested so heavily in China. Its a freaking boneheaded mistake that we will be regretting in the future. They are taking our investment and are pouring it in to their military. There are other countries with surplus labor and sufficient development to suit our needs such as India or Brazil who we should be courting economically. China is not our friend. Giving them MNF status was stupid. Why is China not our friend because we signed a defensive pact with Japan who is a closer ally. Why can nobody else see this? In addition, I don't trust the stability of China. They are developing way too fast. That country could implode under the weight. They are a time bomb. So no I will not support these games. -

Answered Yes, I'll watch
All of the events that lead up to the Olympics have always been lackluster to me. I can't imagine being an athlete that will participate. For most of them, if not all, it is a life-long dream. I think they and their families are the ones who get the most out of the pre-olympic events. I just don't really care about the torch and it's journey, and all the political crap that goes with it.
But when the games actually start, I can't help but get into it and cheer for the US. -

the Tibetian thing bother me..however stopping that torch or harassing those who's dream it was to be in the relay is wrong....I am on the fence about boycottng the olympics..i think it just hurts the athletes..however china is number one for crimes againat humanity

I NEVER watch ANY sporting event. As for the lunacy of protesting the Olympics, an event that is meant to transcend politics, because the Olympic Committee elected to hold the Olympics in a communist country and that communist country acts like a communist country is MORONIC. It's China! Did people honestly believe China would suddenly become a democratic society and grant freedoms to the citizens of China just because China is hosting the Olympics?
