Are you excited about having Michelle Obama as First Lady?
It looks like we are going to have a First Lady we can be proud of for a change. A strong woman to compliment a strong man.

Grace and class? Had your glasses changed lately? That's the frumpiest first lady I've ever seen. I saw her on some video yesterday and she looked like she climbed out of a rag bag. She makes Hillary look like she came straight from Paris. Proud of a woman who has never been proud of America until her husband is a presidential candidate and who thinks this a "mean" country? I don't think so. -
If you can say Michelle has grace and class, why do you attack me for disagreeing? If you don't want looks in the answers, don't put them in the question. My candidate is McCain, but at least Hillary dresses with some degree of taste and if you want to compare intelligence, I'll go with Hillary any day. And while I'm at it, I think Michelle is even meaner looking than she thinks this country is. BTW, those DRs aren't mine.

Are you serious? I think she comes off like a total robot. She never even says anything. Can anyone even say what her voice sounds like? She is a Stepford wife if there ever was one. Maybe it's because she's got her own fortune and a pre-nup, so she can split any time. Or, she's under the influence.

How many people have disagreed with there churches and still attend catholilc churches ALLOWED MOLESTATION and millions of people still attend this only leaves the question racist always white America is still very deep rooted with racist views its okay for white people to have controversal people surrounding them. I just wish Americans would stop shopping and really open there eyes.

I don't see anyone talking about Bill needing to improve his appearance. Such a double standard. Her "knowledge and compassion" are all that matters. (as well as her other skills and attributes). People are sexist without even realizing it - like when they talk about outfits hillary wears! Who talks about Edward's ties or Obama's shirts??

(allagash) That's not true. We're not talking about beauty -- the question involved classiness. If you think Michelle is classy you must be blind. Michelle is a low class frump and no one is going to make a silk purse out of that pig's ear. She's also a loose canon and will be an embarrassment to this country. As far as intelligence goes, we'll never know how much of her getting into the universities was due to affirmative action where she stepped over someone more qualified's head to get in. She is one pushy woman, if that makes her qualified to be first lady. Refined does not come to mind. And for that expensive education she has nothing to say but insults about the country that gave her the opportunity, and to top that she's whining because she had to pay her tuition back. What a gal!

You don't seem to have a firm grasp on the definition of "class". I know many very "classy" people who are quite frumpy looking, and I know a few low class assholes with $3,000 suits and $250 haircuts. "Class" isn't defined by a person's frumpiness, or lack thereof.
Hillary is a very pushy woman as well, and she was first lady for eight years, while her husband became the best president we've had in this country since JFK. She was, and still is by many, respected as a tough, no nonsense woman, and something of a loose cannon. But not Michelle Obama (and don't get me wrong, I'm not defending her, I'm just pointing out the hypocrisy)
George Dumbya Bush is hardly refined either. He's an alcoholic and a cocaine addict who has a propensity to say "fuck off" and to flip people the bird.....hardly a class act that schmuck is, yet he is PRESIDENT, and a far bigger embarrassment to this country than anyone I can think of. Hypocrisy.
And my comment was indeed true. I've read 20 or more comments from those on the right over the past few days specifically referring to the "ugly" and "Hideous looking" women who are Democrats, and the "Gorgeous" and "sexy babes" that populate the right. -
Where did you learn English -- Kenya? Here is the definition of "classy" in English:
class·y –adjective , class·i·er, class·i·est. Informal. of high class, rank, or grade; stylish; admirably smart; elegant. (dictionary.com)
Michelle would be listed under the antonym of classy.
I never thought about it before -- maybe more Republican first wives are considered classy. I do remember Jackie, though. -
Where I learned everything else....the school of life. "Class" or "Classy" is an overused and inappropriately used word on a daily basis. Again, the point is, Hillary was first lady for 8 years, a well respected Senator from the great state of New York, and now, the first and only viable female candidate for President in US history. She too has dealt with criticism about her frumpy, dumpy appearance for 17 years, yet it had, nor does it HAVE, anything to do with her ability, her intelligence, or her readiness to do the job.
Again, my issue is the inherent hypocrisy that exists within this very discussion. If John McSame was married to a frumpy, dumpy woman, rather than a blond slice of eye candy, we wouldn't even be HAVING this conversation.

The fact remains that you do not know the definition of the word classy. The dictionary doesn't take your private definitions into account.
You're wrong -- McCain's wife has nothing to do with this definition. She, Laura, etc. were only mentioned as an aside.
My favorite first lady is Eleanor Roosevelt. She may not have been "classy" but she was everything a first lady should be. Michelle is nothing but a vulgar embarrassment to life on this planet. That's the reason most people don't want her as first lady, not because of her looks. Still, there are certain expectations for our highest female public figure -- they should to be an asset in some area, besides meanness and whininess. -
I agree. Everyone think about this whole situation. The loons of the Democratic party (the rag that it is) are making their play to put a loon in the White House. They are very brash about this because they are not hiding the fact that this joker is a black bigot,hates this country just like his wife hates this country,and as his bro. reverend has said that Obama is a politican and says what he needs just like white politicans to get elected. The next President could put up to 3 justices on the U.S.Supreme court. The liberal loons cannot have this and Conservatives cannot let the loons take over the court with these appointments. Do you realize the 2 men put on the Court by Republicans helped the court to rule that the death penality is constitutional and that having to show a valid I.D. to vote is constitutional. We must hold the loons off so a conservative court can be obtained and this will cripple the looney left for decades. This can effect your children for decades. Don't be fooled by their smoke and mirrors. Put this top on your list or unless you are a loon yourself and want socialism and public black bigotry. Take care of your children's future then worry about your almighty dollar.
