Would you like it if your significant other surprised you with a tattoo?

Would you like it if your significant other surprised you with a tattoo?

What if you went away on a business trip and your significant other went out and got your name and possibly a portrait of you tattooed on them. Would that be romantic or would you not like it?

She did it, and I love it.

She knew that I liked tramp-stamps on women. She had always been anti-tattoo or piercing. When I came home from a trip, and she said, "I have a surprise for you.", I couldn't believe she actually did it. I went out the next day and got my first tat. No regrets.

It would be inconsistent with her level of intelligence so I'd be worried about her. If you want 'em, great! But there are few permanent decsions that aren't eventually regretted.

I don't hate tattoos, in fact my husband has 2 and I have one also, but I wouldn't want him to get my name tattooed on him, besides the fact that its "bad luck" lol I just think its tacky. If he wanted to get something to symbolize me, I would think it was sweet, but not my name.

That's not the issue. The issue is at 80 years old, will they show that saggy butt off? Tattoo or not, who wants to see that?

I wouldn't want him to get my name or face tattooed on him because if we ever got divorced he would be stuck with it. Also, tattoos are expensive and I wouldn't want him spending a lot of money on something so silly.

Even tho I think its a bad idea to get a lover/spouses name on your body FOREVER. Can't take em off to ez if you split. I have tattoos and want my Hubby of 28 years to get one, but not necessarily my name or pic!!

on how long we'd be together and how well the relationship is working...but in every case I'm not really a fan of name tattoos...it would be a difficult situation coz I surely wouldn't want to have his name tattooed on my body in return

I would be proud of him for getting a tattoo (it's a manly thing I guess) but I would be bummed that he didn't tag me along with him to get one with him. When a person gets a tattoo on their body it is their way of expressing themselves openly meaning they aren't afraid to show who they are or what they represent and I think that is so gnarly to see someone with that type of thought process/personality.

I would be freaked.. tattoos are far too permanent. If it was someone I was going to be with 'forever' I probably still wouldnt like it, maybe a little rose would be nice - a symbol of me rather than an actual likeness.
