University of Miami student Whitney Thompson was just named American's Next Top Model. The blonde bombshell is the first plus sized model to win the competition. So, do you think she deserved to win?

    i think she looks normal, but unfortunately the modelling industry doesn't. maybe her victory will inspire other "plus size" models to try. we need more models like her

    She hardly what I would consider +size. Maybe she's just normal weight compared to size0 models that we see

    * Begin rant* Plus size?? PLUS SIZE?!?!?!? She looks like an average woman to me! She is an average woman!!! She is healthy looking, not all skin 'n' bones like all the others. I dont like how fashion seems to put down the average person. I mean seriously, how many people out there are really that skinny, out side of the runway? And parents complain that there daughters have no responsible role models to look up to. Well look at what the media is telling them! You cant shop in any stores with out feeling self conscious anymore... plus size? Sounds like a plus size problem to me. *end rant* ^_^

    honey, she's HUGE. don't get me wrong. I made the poll and I think it's great for obese chicks to have a role model. But for you to say that she's average is dangerous. That's encouraging girls to become pigs like her and saying its no big deal. If she is average, than kill me now.

    i thinkk she did good, i was shocked that she made it that far because plus size girls have never made it past half way... top model wise ...she broke barriers i wish her all the luck! I hope she does well and she's now an idol to lots of young girls.. way to go..anyways shes not even that big thoough... but in the modeling industry she is and thats sad..

    I don't see where she is plus sized. I think calling her a plus sized model when she is obviously an average sized woman is just another example of how the entertainment industry has unrealistic expectations of how a woman should look. They want everyone to believe this is beautiful.

    i have been trying to do modeling for the longest time and i have been told to lose 40 pounds to be able to do that i think i should be wanted for the way i look with out any changes.

    She was mean to everyone, is so self-absorbed and a marginal model. She was overly-spoiled as a child, and will probably throw tantrum fits on the sets. Tyra was just appeasing her own personal agenda with this one.
