What do you guys think about McSAME fundraising with Bush in Private?
President Bush is scaling back next week’s fundraising swings for Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) at the request of the campaign, which wants the events closed to the press, POLITICO has learned.

The change — in both Arizona and Utah — is part of McCain’s delicate effort to find the balance between embracing an unpopular president and taking advantage of his huge continuing draw with well-heeled Republicans.

The Arizona event, which was to be at the Phoenix Convention Center, was the first time Bush was to have appeared with McCain since their White House meeting in March.

A McCain aide said: “The McCain campaign has a policy that fundraising events are closed press. In keeping with that policy, the campaign requested the event be moved to a private home.”

On Tuesday, the president was to appear with McCain at the Phoenix Convention Center at a McCain for President and Republican National Committee Victory Reception.

And on Wednesday, Bush was to appear at Salt Lake City’s Grand America Hotel with former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney at a McCain for President and Republican National Committee Victory Reception (followed by a more exclusive dinner at the Romneys’ Park City home).

Now, both of the public events will be at private residences.

Ha!
How dumb do these people think this country is? Does McSAME really think we can't see him trying to play both sides of the field?

McSAME we know what your doing no matter how private you go about it.

" IF YOU DON'T WANT TO BE SEEN WITH THE GUY YOU SHOULDN'T BE ASSOCIATED WITH HIM. "

McSAME wants to make Bush tax cuts permanent.
McSAME will continue Bush's horrible healthcare plan.
McSAME wants to continue Bush's failed policies in Iraq.

Talk about a clone!
What has this guy came up with or fought for on his own?

Answered MCcain is not like Bush he has his own plans for America.

How is this in private? - The Republican party...the entire party is running for the presidency - you think they aren’t going to financially back their candidate in the best manner possible? Really come on this isn’t news or fodder for anything.

Obbywan has the Obbywanites convinced he has the answer...well what is his plan...all I hear is 'change and hope' or 'words are just words'...where is the plan or is he a puppet of the 'good ol boys/gals' of the DNC?

I may be wrong but I don't think it was a coincidence that McSame's presidential run was restored from the grave. He was probably chosen by what was once his enemies for his independent appeal, and war credentials to be the puppet for the powerful right-wing nuts. (Divide and Conquer) has always been W's, the so-called "uniter", prima modus operanda...

Answered I think he wants to give us 12 years of Bush. I can't vote for that.

It's obvious He knows his supporters would dislike what he is doing. Instead of him being a candidate for the people who support him he decides to get away from the public eye so he won't lose votes.
Same old B.S. Republicans have no problem with. MCcain should listen to America we have been severely damaged from George Bush's Presidency and we really can't afford more getting up on stage smiling at us and tap dancing while we pack up our belongings and drive away staring at a foreclosure sign.

MCcain knows we are slowly being sold to China with this unpopular war. He knows we're in a recession.
He knows we're losing jobs and homes.
He knows we're struggling to get to work and to put fod on the table.
He knows we SIMPLY HAVE BEEN NEGLECTED.

Why continue these off the wall policies that HAVE GOTTEN US NOWHERE?
    WHY VOTE FOR MORE DESTRUCTION?

Love all your choices. I was really caught between

"I don't care if McCain was a serial killer I’m still voting him over Obama and
McCain is not like Bush he has his own plans for America…

I did like the former but have settled on the latter.

McCain is having trouble raising money for his campaign unlike Obama he does not have all those Million-airs supporting him. He would like to tap into the Bush millionaire club but does not want anyone to think he is going to be like Bush. I do think he will be a better President than Bush because he is somewhat a maverick with ideas of his own on how government should be run and the Party will have a hard time controlling him.

I as a Democrat wish McCain well because if Obama gets the nomination McCain will be the next President

    Ayla your all confused.

If he is not going to be a better a President than Bush we're in for a long ride IF he beats Obama.

LMAO - couldn't stop myself from choosing this one LOLOL

Seriously, who cares - all the candidates have private fund raisers, where do you think the tape of Obama talking about bitter bible gun clingers came from? No big deal, well unless you say stupid stuff and think no one is there to leak it out!

Who can blame him for not wanting to be seen in public with Bush? Anyway, I think that's just an excuse. They rented the Phoenix Convention Center, and then couldn't sell enough tickets to fill it up. They were afraid there were going to be more anti-war protesters than McCain supporters at the event.

Now McCain has changed his web site and removed his insistence that we need to send more troops to Iraq.

On Tuesday, Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) altered his campaign website to deemphasize his repeated calls for sending more troops to Iraq. The old version of McCain’s Iraq page argued that an increase of troops was a “crucial prerequisite for needed economic and political development in the country”:

What a good way for the BUSH Dynasty to pass CASH to the JM adventure! None of this 527 stuff. Just pass the money under the table, in private and who will be wiser! Nancy, Barack and Hillary need to investigate this chicanery!

They moved the event from a public venue to a private residence, so they could exclude the press. From the event.
  • raves +3 -1 [-] by Di - Hugs Trees
They moved it from a convention center to a house (becasue of antiwar riot people)...press were at the house- no news here.

It's being said that he doesn't want pictures with him and George Bush being taken because Bush is so unpopular. Why follow in his footsteps and except his support if your to embarrassed to have a photo taken with him?
