Do men prefer being solo over a bad marriage?

"Men are 10 times more scared of marrying the wrong person than of never getting married at all," Weisman told Reuters in a telephone interview.

"This is the first generation of people who have grown up with bad divorces. People assume there is something wrong if you don't marry but these are men who have made a different choice and not given in to social pressures."

    Although it sounds nice, I'm not sure that's true. I would rather be in a bad marriage than be alone, because a bad marriage can be worked on and the reward is much deeper.

    I've been in a bad marriage, and believe me, if you try it you won't like it. Just because you try your heart out doesn't mean there is any reward waiting except to get as far away from the situation as you can.
