The 29-year-old former American Idol contestant — who recently wrapped his Broadway gig in Spamalot — is going to be a father, reports TMZ.com.

Sources tell the Website that the mother is Jaymes Foster, a record producer who is also Clay's best friend. Clay lives with her when he's in Los Angeles.

According to TMZ, Jaymes was artificially inseminated. However, Clay will have an active role in raising the child, who is due in August
