It looks very close to their z4 roadster, do you not like roadsters in general?

I love BMW, and I'd take this clean ride out to the Roxbury :D... Just one thing; the rise on the hood, that leads into the windshield division. I don't like that. Aside from that it's perfect!

Answered Love it! I'd drive it!

I would but it seems 1) Cold, 2) Loud, and 3) Easily Torn.

Always worry about change, Could it last or do you "change colors anytime you want? That would be neat.

    Answered Looks unsafe!

Its awesome but I mean... cars are getting less and less safe. The cars from the 50's it takes a LOT to get hurt when you have an accident in one of those... but to me fabric just covering my car is not going to protect my ass in an accident... so I love it but would probably just test drive it once.
  • raves +1   [-] by mrigor
Thats just human perception. Hard and big does not alway result in safety. A steel car that does not crumple dissipates the force much less efficiently than a soft plastic/aluminum car. As a result the driver/passengers get more of the residual force applied on them.

In the case of this BMW, the beams under the skin are probably very safe and distribute the force of impact over the whole length of the car proportionally.

Say that to my friends. The one had an old big car from the 50s totaled it when he fell asleep at the wheel. Another friend of mine had a brand new Corvette and he crashed it doing the same speed as my friend and it was totaled and mangled and it mangled him right with it and now he's gone. I don't think its only human perception at work.

I see what you're saying but still.

    what if it rains??
  • raves +1   [-] by mrigor
They'll probably come up with a hardtop you can put on when it rains.

The problem comes in practicality. What happens when the 'skin' is damaged? I suppose if one could afford a BMW one can afford the enormous cost of skin grafting.

Looks like a shark. Oh, is there somewhere I can stash my Glock?

It looks really cool, but what if you ripped the cloth?
It's not like i would be as easy to fix as a scratch
If someone gave it to me, would pay for the gas, and would replace anything that got torn or something, i'd take it

BMW, Is a great car, I only owned one in my whole life, but I loved it. the handling of these machines are great. and with this idea with will lighten the car, and maybe thus making a smaller engine that is able to go faster and use less fuel.
