SHOULD MEN HAVE A SAY IN THE SUBJECT MATTER OF ABORTION?

Yep, I'm another guy with an opinion on abortion. If you're one of the females that don't believe a guy has the right to have an opinion or say his opinion on abortion, you may want to take a hike because this could tick you off. I think abortion is an easy way out. I believe it's easier to sit back and say it was a hard decision. I think abortion ends the beginning of human life. I don't think any women has the right to make that choice. I hate the fact that women have the right to end life and men don't have a say in the matter. I don't care how many women I piss off but for the rest of my life, I will never feel bad about having an opinion or being open about ABORTION! Now that you know how I feel...What about you? Do you believe a guy should have a say when it comes to abortion?

Answered MEN SHOULDN'T HAVE A SAY!

Basically its the woman's body and if she isn't willing to carry the baby there isn't anything the man can do about it if she has made up her mind. If the man wants the baby he can talk to his significant other about it but ultimately the decision is hers. Furthermore it is a hard decision, a friend of my mother's got pregnant while she was in college, at the time she was struggling financially and didn't feel she had the means to care for a child she had an abortion and almost immediately regretted it. There were complications from it and she couldn't become pregnant again. She spent the rest of her life thinking about that moment and wishing she could take it back. Abortion is not something I could ever do but the point I was trying to make is life is complicated and you never know what is going on in someone's life that causes them to make the decisions they do, you shouldn't judge someone because they decided it was right for them to do.

Answered MEN SHOULDN'T HAVE A SAY!

Ultimately the man doesn't have to sacrifice his education, career, body, stability or his life to bring the baby into the world. He can just walk away.

I think a man should have certain rights. For example if he didn't abuse the woman and she knows he's the father then he should be informed she is pregnant and be allowed to give his opinion even if the woman gets the veto. Legally, however, I think referendums on limits and the legality of abortion should be held only among women. It's easy to say nobody should get abortions if you know you'll never get pregnant.

Only a douche bag wouldn't sacrifice his education, career, stability or his life to bring the baby into the world. You're talking about a certain type of person that she shouldn't of had sex with to begin with. If he's not willing to do those things, then he's a tool but all men shouldn't be judged because of that type of guy. There's more good fathers then there are bad fathers. The liberal media will have you believe other wise to justify a liberal government ;-)

Then why are women left holding the baby when a man walks away? She shouldn't be blamed for him being a douche bag. You're clearly too good a guy to see that not everyone else is the same.
  • raves     [-] brady969 replied to Lovee
Again, you're talking about a percentage of men that is smaller than the percentage of good fathers out there. Yes, it happens but no, not every guy should pay for the crimes of the bone heads that are out there. That's a socialist view. That's a liberal view. MAKE EVERYONE PAY THE SAME. MAKE EVERYONE SUFFER THE SAME.

If women took more responsability with who they decided to sleep with, then this wouldn't be such a big issue. LISTEN TO WHAT I'M SAYING LOVEE....I AM NOT BLAMING WOMEN! AGAIN....I AM NOT BLAMING WOMEN BUT....

If women were more selective and waited to have sex and had sex with a man who wasn't a dirt-bag deadbeat, then it wouldn't be as bad as it is.

Let me ask you some questions... Would you ever have sex with someone without knowing their past? Who they are as a person? What they've acomplished in life? What their goals in life are? If they have intentions of raising a child if it ever came time too? From the few conversations we've had, you don't seem like the type that would...you sound smarter than that but if we were to keep this conversation honest, you and I both know there's plenty of women that would and being that the woman does carry the baby and being that the woman does have to take responsability for that child in the end, then it's th...

That may not be what you wanted to hear but that's the way it is.

1st and most importantly...Teach all women better because those women will be the future mothers.

When every man that ever father a child steps up and takes his share of the responsibility... then, and only then, do I think men deserve a say... and a small one at that. If men do not want the responsibility of rearing a child emotionally and financially, then take precautions.

Otherwise, it is the woman who has to carry the child, give birth, raise it and be responsible for it. It should be her say, and no one needs to make her feel bad about it. However, she too needs to take precautions so that she does not become pregnant.

It is just a reality check and my point of view.

First off it's not her body, it's the child's body. Just because you're too selfish to accept the responsibilities for your actions doesn't make it right to kill someone.

Now it takes two people to make a baby. If the woman is not a murderer the man is responsible to raise the child either in house or by child support. In my opinion if the woman has an abortion without the mans connsent he should be able to press charges, man slaghter at the very least, murder one preferable since it would be premeditated and against a victim unable to protect itself.

It absolutely takes two genders to conceive life. The decision's should involve both genders. If the female does not want the child and the male does then let the female be compensated for the trouble of creating a life that is wanted, or keep your legs together.
New legislation should soon be drafted giving the DAD equal rights to his child.

sorry, its true she should have used birth control but you should have used a condom. The bottom line is she has go through the pregnancy and the delivery herself so the choice is hers. Its not your body and you have no control over it. women do not need to be slaves to biology any longer and reproductive decisions belong only to the woman. you don't own us any longer we belong to ourselves.

But only if they are willing to participate in that child's life and that means child support and birthing expenses and being there as a father should be while that child grows up.

Of course man should be able to tell the woman their opinion, but in the nd it should always be the womans decition. It's not the man who is stuck with the kid later.

I agree with you that abortion is murder, but would you take care of the baby, if you made your woman have one, even though she didn't want it? And now, saying that you will is the easy way out - would you really do it in real life?

Answered MEN SHOULD HAVE A SAY!

If this is in anyway a question of law then, no, a man should have no say. If this is a question of principle then, yes, a man should be able to state his opinion and it should be listened to. I don't think that a woman should terminate a pregnancy if it will cause no health problems to her and the man wants the child. That is, of course, if the man is a mature, responsible person capable of raising a child. I am against abortion, but we ARE a nation of laws and I don't believe a RIGHT should be revoked. Of course I can understand how women feel it is a personal choice, but it can be a selfish one in some instances.

then let him carry and birth the child womens bodies belong to themselves, we're not your chattel any more
  • raves     [-] brady969 replied to cronewinter
Your point is moot since we are talking about life. You make it sound like she's holding a matariel object. No matter how black and white you want to make this, it's not.

After you get pregnant, your body is no longer just yours...you're now a shell with another life in you...not your right to end that life just because you feel like a slave. Both parties should of thought of that before they had careless sex.

Your body belongs to yourself. My body belongs to me. And the baby's body belongs to it. Keep your hands off the baby's body.

The man isnt the one who faces death with an unwanted pregnancy. Even in this day and age, women still die in childbirth, even in modern medical settings. It isn't his body that will be marred by the pregnancy.

And before someone comments on the issue "it shouldn't be used as birth control for someone being irresponsible" (blah blah blah), well, surprise surprise but there are people in committed relationships who use birth control, and that sometimes for whatever reason the birth control fails. All of a sudden they should be forced into something that they did make an efort to avoid? No thanks.

If they both choose to have sex then they both should have a voice! I understand its the womans body, but its both thier lifetime of change. By saying women have the right to choose alone then men should have the right to choose if they want to support the child. It works both ways it can hurt both ways.

Answered MEN SHOULDN'T HAVE A SAY!

Don't get me wrong, of course I think that the "dad" should be part of the discussion about it etc...but I don't think that a man should have some legal rights like that he could force the woman to get the child. It's her body and it would be wrong to force this on her if she really doesn't want it. The ideal way would just be that the man gives her the feeling that he'll support her and be there for her and the child...and then she wouldn't feel anymore that an abortion was necessary.
  • raves     [-] slushynd replied to gwts
I agree with your comment but not with the answer, a woman shouldn't be forced and they should be their to support each other. At the same time if the man shouldn't have a legal right to decide if she keeps it, then why is the man legally forced to support the child. Something as great as having a kid always carries so much drama for alot of people
