First of all, I don't have kids, so I don't know how to deal with them that well.
I have a large Arctic wolf/malamute mix and an Akita. Today, again, I caught a couple of neighborhood kids sticking a long stick through the wrought iron fence and beating my dog. I have caught them numerous times and have talked to the parents numerous times. If the dog bites the kids, they can and would sue. How would you handle it?

He is beautiful... if he is in that bad of shape take him to your vet and document the abuse and like I said above report it to Animal control for cruelty to animals and to child protective services since the children must be being abused if they are treating animals this way

Where the girl smacked her right across the back of her legs, they are both severly bruised. The vet says he will be ok, we just have to pamper him quite a bit. He likes to lie under the bushes right next to the fence because it is damp and cool..she comes up on him from behind and smacks the shit out of him...I have never hated a little kid, but this one deserves all the hate I can muster...at least at times.

I'm soo sorry... I can't imagine that I would be acting as logically as you are... If kids hurt my dog that bad I would be hurting them... Hopefully some of the more reasonable responses here will help you get them to stop =)... keep us posted please... and please give your pup a hug from us... I hope he is better soon =)

That's a good reason that the art of taxidermy of mean and nasty kids shouldn't be against the law. Wow! Would that be an attitude adjustment remedy? My dogs have never been the headaches that my kids were at times. I used to threaten them with taxidermy, as a joke, but they knew I loved them too much.

My main concern at the time was my dog. He was down. I got him up and carried this huge wonderful baby into the house. He was whimpering so badly that I was screaming and crying. He could not lift his weight on his hind legs. I put him on a floor runner and slid him to the garage door...I put my husband's car ramps to the door of the garage over to the back of my SUV, put a board over that, and pulled him into the car on the rug...I got him to the vet and they did x-rays. She said that there was nothing broken, he is severly bruised. I stood and looked at him, I shook, I cried and I held him in my arms. I know he will be ok, it is just he should not have to be in this pain and I want to fucking put a water hose around her little neck and choke her until her eyes pop out for doing this...I have to keep my head about it..I don't think I would stop hitting her if I were to start...it has gone on too long.

If it was me, I'd snatch the kids up, march em home to their parents and give them all the warning that if it happens again, I won't be held responsible for whatever happens. (which they'd probably counter with something about law enforcement) Which would allow me to say that "If it happens again, I'm coming back down here and beating all y'alls a**es"...Parents too.....You're choice -
My little niece who is 7 was here today. She went out to the back yard and was talking to them. I don't know what was said, but she was pissed, so she turned around and yelled at them, "Yeah, and keep your bitch ass sticks in your own yard before I kick your stupid asses." I asked her what they said, she says, "I took care of it Zia Ang." I cracked up. She is so much like me...BLESS HER HEART!

A video camera, the SPCA (or whoever protects animals where you live), and keep calling the cops. Eventually they'll get the idea. In the mean time, do you have a friend who's an attorney? that will write a letter to the parents for you? -

If your dog is nice, I think I would have them come over and play with the dog and help you take care of it, under close supervision of course. Maybe this would help them develop a good relationship with the dog and you, and then they wouldn't feel the need

Post a "No Trespassing" sign and tell the kids and parents that you'll press charges if you catch them on your property.
