Several groups that advocate for the disabled are calling for a boycott of the new film Tropic Thunder, starring Ben Stiller, Jack Black, Tom Cruise and Robert Downey, Jr. There are currently 22 groups protesting the movie's satire. The groups are particularly offended by the repeated use of the word "retard" in regards to a subplot character that Stiller plays called Simple Jack. What do you think of this?

According to Star Magazine, doctors have told Shia LaBeouf they may have to amputate one of his injured fingers. The young star, now working on Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is likely to lose the pinky on his left hand, a source on the movie set says. "Shia called producers yesterday and told them," the source on the set in Alamogordo, N.M. says. "It's really thrown the movie into turmoil." Shia, 21, mangled his hand when his SUV rolled over twice in a July 27 accident in West Hollywood. He was cited for DUI although cops say they do not believe the accident was his fault. One of the biggest controversies over school dress policies is whether schools should employ a choice dress code, or mandate school uniforms. Each side has their pro's and con's and can effect a child's education. School Uniforms lessen social tensions between students, whether it be for lifestyle choices or economic status. However, allowing for a looser dress code allows students to have a sense of individuality, and allow for self expression. In certain areas, school uniforms have helped stop against gang related conflicts, promotes education and releases the pressure of having to find something of fashion to wear in the morning. But, many students may choose alternate schools due to having having an enforced dress code mandating school uniforms.

Britney Spears has officially given up legal custody of her two children, Sean Preston (2 years) and Jayden James (18 months), to her ex-husband Kevin Federline. KFed was not planning on fighting for full custody, but was pleasantly surprised by Britney's decision. Spears will be allowed visitation rights to see her children. While battling with her bipolar disorder, it's probably in the best interest of the kids not to be under her supervision, or lack thereof.
