Sen. Barack Obama of Illinois accepted the Democratic presidential nomination Thursday night, declaring that Sen. John McCain of Arizona, his Republican opponent, was not up to the task of resolving America’s economic and foreign policy problems. “Tonight, tonight, I say to the people of America, to Democrats and Republicans and independents across this great land — enough!” Obama declared as thousands of flash bulbs popped in the Denver Broncos’ stadium. Obama wove the personal with the political in his 50-minute address to 84,000 supporters — and millions more at home — explaining how he would make a difference in their lives as president. Laying out what he characterized as the state of the union after eight years of Republican leadership, Obama painted an America “at one of those defining moments — a moment when our nation is at war, our economy is in turmoil and the American promise has been threatened once more,” he said. “Tonight, more Americans are out of work, and more are working harder for less. More of you have lost your homes, and even more are watching your home values plummet. More of you have cars you can’t afford to drive, credit card bills you can't afford to pay and tuition that’s beyond your reach.” The blame, he said, lay squarely with “a broken politics in Washington and the failed policies of George W. Bush.” “America, we are better than these last eight years,” he said. “We are a better country than this.” Praise, criticism for McCain Obama praised McCain, who was held as a prisoner of war in Vietnam for more than five years, as a brave and distinguished American. But he said McCain was tied at the hip to Bush, who is scheduled to address the Republican National Convention on Monday. “The record’s clear: John McCain has voted with George Bush 90 percent of the time,” Obama said. “Senator McCain likes to talk about judgment, but really, what does it say about your judgment when you think George Bush was right more than 90 percent of the time? I don’t know about you, but I’m not ready to take a 10 percent chance on change.” “I don’t believe that Senator McCain doesn’t care what’s going on in the lives of Americans,” Obama said. “I just think he doesn’t know.” Foreign policy response from Obama Obama also answered Republican attacks on his readiness to be commander-in-chief, signaling that Democrats would hit back hard at attempts to tar the party as weak on defense. Similar attacks helped torpedo the candidacy of Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., a highly decorated military veteran, in 2004. “We are the party of Roosevelt. We are the party of Kennedy. So don’t tell me that Democrats won’t defend this country. Don’t tell me that Democrats won’t keep us safe,” Obama said. Contending that “the Bush-McCain foreign policy has squandered the legacy that generations of Americans — Democrats and Republicans — have built,” Obama promised: “As commander-in-chief, I will never hesitate to defend this nation, but I will only send our troops into harm’s way with a clear mission and a sacred commitment to give them the equipment they need in battle and the care and benefits they deserve when they come home.” Obama also promised to end the war in Iraq and to “finish the fight against al-Qaida and the Taliban in Afghanistan.” “When John McCain said we could just ‘muddle through’ in Afghanistan, I argued for more resources and more troops to finish the fight against the terrorists who actually attacked us on 9/11, and made it clear that we must take out Osama bin Laden and his lieutenants if we have them in our sights,” he said. “You know, John McCain likes to say he’ll follow bin Laden to the gates of Hell — but he won’t even go to the cave where he lives.” And he said he planned to undertake “direct diplomacy” with Iran to prevent it from obtaining nuclear weapons. “I will restore our moral standing so that America is once more the last, best hope for all who are called to the cause of freedom, who long for lives of peace and who yearn for a better future,” he said. • Economy • Taxes • Energy • Health care • Foreign policy • Defense • Education The promise: Obama has pledged to attack the weak economy with another stimulus plan to follow the $168 billion package of tax rebates for individuals and tax breaks for businesses that Congress passed last February. And the Bush administration is forecasting that next year's imbalance will hit an all-time high of $482 billion. Okay, So I've been scared and in fear of another attack being done on our home land. Do you think we will have another recurrence? If so, where is this country and world headed too? We have issues in Iraq, Russia, and Georgia...and U.S. being threaten by different countries...we won't be able to defend ourselves....if we end up fighting in 3 different battles....maybe that is their plan...to have us undefended...to Attack us! Okay, I'm just rambling on here.... but Just remember the U.S.=US (we the people who live in it) Your opinion will matter!! Thanks. Love ya guys!!

Is this creepy or what?! Reborn Baby Dolls are a big hit for many people that use them for a variety of purposes and they are even being called a cult item. One report from ABC News notes that the dolls have become very popular to some private collectors and the report adds that some nostalgic grandparents and grieving parents are using them as well. Creepy or Adorable, Reborn Baby Dolls Spark Controversy That's what many will consider creepy. Will there soon be little celebrity baby look-alikes for the Angelina jolie and Brad Pitt babies? That's not clear yet but that might make it even a bit more scary. The little dolls are so life-like and look so real they have even sparked some controversy and some police action in Australia where cops rescued a doll from a locked car as they believed that it was a real baby that was in trouble. An earlier report from Lynda Johnson noted that Fox News reported that nearly the same thing happened here in America as well. According to a report from the news service police trying to rescue a "baby" that turned out to be a doll belonging to the owner's wife broke a window of a new Hummer to save the "child." Okay, if you don't have any idea what I'm talking about. Watch the video below and then respond to my questions. To inform you Ms. Rene Marie was told to perform and the NATIONAL ANTHEM. Instead she changed the words to what she said to be the "Black National Anthem" Seriously, its people like her that still cause separation in this country. The National Anthem is meant for every AMERICAN not matter what the color of your skin is! Cry me a freakin River Rene Marie. I'm sorry if your "people" brought your ancestors over to be sold into slavery!! If you don't like the National Anthem then go to a different Country!! Yeah, she was trying voice her opinion...but being deceitful and disrespectful about it isn't the way. As well, I think the National Anthem is perfect the way it is......I NEVER once considered it a "White National Anthem" Lets not forget she found out she offended many people and didn't mean to, but refuses to apologize....

Obama, this man couldn't even sound any stupider when it comes to public speaking. He constantly puts himself in a whole and digs himself deeper with each speech. It seems Senator Barack Obama intends to prove himself completely ignorant of foreign affairs and irrelevant in the Democratic nomination contest. First, during the You Tube debate, he asserted he would personally meet with the leaders of Iran, Syria, North Korea, Cuba, and Venezuela without preconditions in his first year in office. Senator Hillary Clinton immediately pounced on the gaffe, pointing out the potential propaganda use of such a meeting unless a strong diplomatic effort had ensured something positive to be gained by it. If Obama were smart, he would have admitted he "misspoke" and moved on. Instead, he cluelessly defended his ridiculous position with vigor. THEN, Obama insisted that even as he turned tail and ran from Iraq like a frightened child he would unilaterally invade Pakistan to go after terrorists. The man obviously either has never given a thought to the consequences of violating the sovereignty of the only Islamic nation with nuclear weapons, or is just plain dumb. NOW, Obama unilaterally rules out using nuclear weapons under any circumstances in the War on Terror. No American President has ever removed the nuclear option from the table, for good reasons. Obama keeps proving he isn't even close to being qualified for the Presidency. Why is this man still in the race? Can't Stand him, especially those who choose to vote for him. Just because he agrees with Same Sex Marriage, Abortion, More POWER for the African American Race, and yet he isn't focused on the MAJOR important things that America needs. He's just an unexperienced man. Who is just supported by thoughtless people with lots of money! I don't agree with ANY of his decisions, especially this one!! Is he looking to destroy America?
