A Puerto Rican man has been granted his wish to remain standing — even in death. A funeral home used a special embalming treatment to keep the corpse of 24-year-old Angel Pantoja Medina standing upright for his three-day wake. In a Yankees baseball cap and sunglasses, Pantoja was mourned by relatives while propped upright in his mother's living room. His brother Carlos told the El Nuevo Dia newspaper the victim had long said he wanted to be upright for his own wake: "He wanted to be happy, standing." The owner of the Marin Funeral Home, Damaris Marin, told The Associated Press the mother asked him to fulfill her dead son's last wish. Medina was found dead Friday underneath a bridge in San Juan and buried Monday. Police are investigating.

Jennifer Rosenberg, a Texas woman used her 12-year-old daughter as a designated driver so that she could be drove to a Longview bar to celebrate her 35th birthday. Rosenberg was arrested Wednesday night after her child was pulled over by cops for a traffic violation (the girl told officers she had just dropped her mother off at a bar about two miles from their home). Longview Police Department officers responded to Leon's Bar and Grill, where they arrested Rosenberg on a child endangerment charge, according to a probable cause affidavit. She was booked into Gregg County jail. This girl must of had guts just driving at such young age whether obligated or asked by her mother. An unexpected shower of money rained down on a Southern California freeway when a motorcyclist dropped a canvas bag with $2,000 on Interstate 10 in the Monterey Park area east of Los Angeles. According to CHP Officer Anthony Martin, a motorcyclist dropped a computer bag full of cash on the eastbound freeway at Garfield Avenue, about five miles east of the Los Angeles Civic Center. The money scattered on the freeway at about 11 a.m. Sunday(09/11/08) and passing motorists couldn't resist a grab for cash. Several vehicles simply stopped in 65 mph traffic to pick up the loose bills and drove away. The Harley-Davidson driver said he got back only about $100.

Lil' Wayne's daughter, Reginae Carter, has been killed in a car accident, reports say. Reginae, 8 years old, allegedly died in a traffic accident late in the evening on August 10th, 2008. Her Mother, Antonia "Toya" Johnson, was briefly married to Lil' Wayne, real name Dwayne Carter. They were reportedly high school sweat hearts and Johnnson was just 14 years old when Reginae was born. However, the reports have not been confirmed by the rapper or any of his representatives. There are hundreds of comments on Lil' Wayne's MySpace page as fans send their condolences, but there is one message that apparently came from Reginae's aunt that confirms that the report is false. "I am pleased to inform you that this report is false," according to a post from a person who claims to be Reginae's aunt. "It is merely a rumour started by someone who obviously is miserable in their own skin that they would even have the notion to attack a child." US authorities have charged 11 people in connection with the theft of the credit and debit card details of about 40 million people. The US Department of Justice believes it is the largest identity theft case it has ever prosecuted. The stolen numbers were sold via the Internet to other criminals in the US and Eastern Europe, and used to withdraw tens of thousands of dollars at a time from ATMs.The group allegedly hacked into shop and bank computer systems, installing software to gain access to the data. Three of those charged are US citizens. The others come from Estonia, Ukraine, Belarus and China. And despite all the focus on security since the 9/11 terrorist attacks, the people alleged to be behind this network had little difficulty taking data from some nine businesses, all major retailers. They exploited vulnerabilities in networks, servers and databases, making the information they gleaned available worldwide to the underground economy that buys and sells such data. Lets face it, hackers have the power to get your credit card number, debit, and PIN if they want to.

A 56-year-old Milwaukee man is accused of shooting his lawn mower because it wouldn't start.Keith Malinowski's has been charged with felony possession of a short-barreled shotgun or rifle and misdemeanor disorderly conduct while armed. According to the criminal complaint, Walendowski says he was angry because his Lawn Boy wouldn't start Wednesday morning. He told police: "I can do that, it's my lawn mower and my yard so I can shoot it if I want." A woman who lives at Walendowski's house reported the incident. She says he was intoxicated. Walendowski could face up to an $11,000 fine and six years and three months in prison if convicted. A call to Walendowski's home went unanswered Friday.

Casey Anthony, the mother of a missing 2-year-old Florida girl, was charged Tuesday with child neglect and lying to investigators. Her daughter was last seen in mid-June, and authorities said they'd found evidence of human decomposition in Anthony's yard and car. Sheriff's deputies said Anthony's car smelled of decomposition, and a cadaver-trained German shepherd noted a smell of human remains in the car and her yard. They said they found a stain, dirt and what seemed to be Caylee's hair in Anthony's trunk. A search of the yard turned up no body. "The risk of her flight if she is released on some low bond increases exponentially, especially now that she's heard this additional evidence and that she is their person of interest," said assistant state attorney Linda Drane-Burdick. Deputies emphasized they were still looking for the girl - alive - and urged anyone with information to step forward. Defense attorney Jose Baez requested bond around $10,000. He said Anthony's family can't pay a high bond and she has the right to freedom while facing lesser charges. "This is not a capital case, and if it were they certainly would file it, if they had evidence to," Baez said. "There is circumstantial evidence of a possible homicide, I will give them that. But circumstantial evidence has not made them confident enough to charge her with any specific homicide or kidnapping, or any capital offense." Anthony's parents became concerned after her car was towed from a check-cashing business where it had been parked for days. She and the child lived with her parents, and she told them she worked as an event planner at an area theme park. Investigators say Anthony was unemployed, and a purported babysitter seems to never have existed. The mother and child hadn't been home in the month before investigators were notified that Caylee was missing. Investigators believe the girl's father is dead. Anthony's mother, Cindy Anthony, acknowledged in court that her daughter had lied before, but said she was a caring mom. The registered nurse believes the girl is alive, and Casey Anthony lied to police because she was somehow threatened. Cindy Anthony said she would even sell her house to free her daughter. "I know Casey as a person," she said. "I know what she is for a mother and I know there's only one or two reasons why Casey would be withholding something about Caylee. I believe that it's something that someone is holding over her and threatening her in some way." Casey Anthony's face filled with tears at the hearing, watching her parents at the witness stand and again after Strickland set bail. "Casey, we love you!" yelled Cindy Anthony as the courtroom cleared. Her daughter nodded and sobbed before being led away in chains.
