posted Jul 24, 2008 10:10AM GMTOh, just saw the links! Thanks for finding those! I'll go with the yellowpages one, add my business to the google listing with a po box and it'll be good enough for now. I'll have to save a bit to set up the actual google search...but I'll get some flyers out again and get some business cards. Slowly but surely I'll work my way up to the big time. Thanks for your help! I REALLY appreciate it!

posted Jul 24, 2008 10:07AM GMTCrap crap crap. Well, I found a way to list my information for free in google. But I need to put an address down and I'm not about to throw my home address on there. Hmm...maybe I can use a po box or something.

posted Jul 24, 2008 09:44AM GMT (edited)Concerned about costs? Don't worry—AdWords puts you in complete control of your spending.
Set your budget
There's no minimum spending requirement--the amount you pay for AdWords is up to you. You can, for instance, set a daily budget of five dollars and a maximum cost of ten cents for each click on your ad.
Avoid guesswork
We provide keyword traffic and cost estimates so you can make informed decisions about choosing keywords and maximizing your budget. (Estimate keyword costs)
Pay only for results
You're charged only if someone clicks your ad, not when your ad is displayed.

posted Jul 24, 2008 09:34AM GMTWill I hate to tell you this... but companies actually buy into google... they pay more to have theirs come up first... I'm not sure how to do it... but I'd talk to someone first... I have your website in my favorites and will attempt searching for it. I know sodahead entries come up in google... maybe ask Fef or Adi they might know better than I...

posted Jul 24, 2008 09:32AM GMTI'll have to look into the yellow pages thing, I'm not sure what that will run me. I seem to remember a family member of mine talking about advertising her day care business in the phone book and I think it was something like $400 for the year. But I'd have to double check that.
I'll talk to my "clients" (haha, seems weird to say that) and see if they'll allow me to take pictures of their dogs and maybe ask if they want to provide testimonies for the site. They seem really nice, and I would never do anything without their permission, but I think they will happy to do it.
Do you know how you make sites searchable on google? Do they just automatically come up, or do you have to submit your page or something for the search engine? -
posted Jul 24, 2008 07:55AM GMTlol... I try... Maybe I should check out agent/ marketing field a little more... I might be good at it... who knows.. but yeah... guest book would be good too... that way you could like send out monthly emails or notices to remind them of your program... and everyone could see how many clients you built up... it could be a good idea... I dont think you want to put your clients names out there though... they might not like that... they might be offended... but I dont know... some way to translate into a after the job was done kinda things... I also noticed you had pictures... You could ask the families you work for... if you could get pictures with their animals and post them on your site and say what services you did for them... That would be fun to... but I dont want to put my crazy ideas into your business lol...
One more thing... Is your business in the yellow pages yet? You could put your companies online address and phone in the yellow pages... that might help to... and you could put the locations you serve... -
posted Jul 24, 2008 07:46AM GMTOh yeah, like a guestbook or something? And a testimonial page? Wow! Haha, you're just full of ideas.

posted Jul 24, 2008 07:43AM GMTAnother idea for your website... if you can figure it out... make a comment box for past users... they could say some really important things that drive others to want to use your business
